Re: Here we go again!!

UPDATE..I took it to a different shop yesterday because the original shop are idiots!!! They did a smoke check by my manifold and found it IS 100% air intake manifold leak.. I need to get my gasket changed which is causing the slight rpm flutter along with the lean codes. :beerchug:

Didnt have time to go to dealer so checked the intake by the throttle body and what do you know was put on wrong. Pulled it off and re-installed it check engine light is gone and the truck is idling fine now for three days. That was my problem. Good luck to you guys.

Mine went to the dealer today. Got a new Intake Manifold Gasket, Thottle Body Gasket and Injector O-Rings. Bill was $520. So far so good we will see.... I watched the mechanic do the work. I am VERY gland he talked me into the Injector O-Rings as you would not believe how much they age.

I can imagine. The heat of the engine probably takes a toll on them.

The last bit of problem I had to clear up was a code saying it was running lean. And one of the possible causes (but was not mine) for the neon to throw that code was a known problem of a cracked Walker Exhaust manifold and I do know that our H2's got a nasty habit of having the heads of the exhaust manifold bolts to break off. Maybe you have "many" of them broke and now have an exhaust leak causing the computer to throw the lean condition code.

This is just a thought and may not even be your cause but may be worth a look.

This is also the list suggested to look at in fixing the problem on the Neon

low fuel pressure
injectors
coolant temperature sensor
MAP sensor
O2 sensors
exhaust manifold
engine parts tolerance

The neon project pics are posted through out here if you got some time to kill :o

Yep. Thanks. This was just the actual answer that I am looking for. I asked my dad about it yesterday though but your explanation is better, I guess :D

Re: Here we go again!!

My truck has been running fine no idle issues at all no CEL. Yesterday I was sitting at a light then all of a sudden I noticed the pitch of my exhaust change the truck started idling rough then completely shut down. I restarted it and no CEL light came on or anything. I cleaned out my MAF and checked the intake tube no issues. At a complete loss now cause the dealer probably wont be able to figure out what the heck happened with no CEL.
