Re: Dealers taking orders on 2010 H2s
Did they sue the company who made the knock off?

Not to my knowledge. Kinda hard for a U.S. company to go after a Chinese company unless they were importing them to the U.S...You can get a knockoff of pretty much anything in China. |

Re: Dealers taking orders on 2010 H2s
I'm a bit leary on that dealer.. For starters no one on this forum has heard of any 2010 H2's going into production, although we do know they did start on the 2010 H3. So who knew enough to go into that dealer and put money down already, and also how did he already take 5 orders if they will not be that rare anymore and they had a hell of a time selling the '09s?... I don't know..., just thinking out loud...

How about this Abu Dhabi knockoff with the big Corvette motor I noticed from Hummer Guy on his site. I've always said there is a need for H1 and H2 type vehicles and if Hummer doesn't fill it someone else will.

Let's get back to the original post. Start a new thread on Hummer knock-offs.
I just confirmed with AM General, production of the H2 will begin in early January, first delivery to the dealers early February! Production line is to begin on January 04, 2010. Only the 4 colors listed will be initially made. I ordered my today, only hope it's in by my Birthday, the 5th !!!!!! |

You should probably check your sources. This info is not accurate. |
Re: Dealers taking orders on 2010 H2s
It will be good to read at some point who is going to provide the warranty for the vehicle, GM, Hummer or China. Also need to know after 2012 if GM will continue to sell China the "guts" or not. If not, will China build their own engine and transmission etc. Where will one go to get that serviced? After 2012 if they go to China who will service the GM built Hummer?
I think there is a huge amount of information that Hummer, China and GM will have to provide to the public before folks spend 60-70 grand on a new H2. Way too many unknowns at this stage of the game. I sure hope is all works out and Hummer comes back stronger and better than ever!! |

Warranty will be provided by HUMMER, which will become its own entity w/ the financial backing of a Chinese company. Instead of answering to GM's board of directors and the U.S. government, HUMMER will answer to itself. HUMMER dealers will be where warranty work is completed. Its possible that HUMMER may contract other service centers in areas that HUMMER dealers have closed - but that probably won't be for some time. HUMMER will undoubtedly source many parts from GM in the near-term, but that connection will ultimately be phased out when new models come to the market. GM doesn't produce the products themselves, so it wouldn't make sense to pay them to be the middle man. |

Brian, what part are you referring to as inacuurate, the production time, delivery, colors, or all of the above? Do you think they are even making the 2010 H2 model? |

Namely production time. Right now the earliest production could be up and running would be around March, and hitting dealers a few weeks after that. They'll make H2 models again for sure -- but I just don't see how it would be good to release 2010 models when everyone else will have 2011 models out a few months after HUMMER has its first 2010 models out. HUMMER's official word on H2 production is a planned ramp-up during the "First half of 2010".... Here are the 2010 colors. |
