Re: Need to buy a wiper motor and module. Where from?

Thanks Bluethunder, I did a little further checking on this.
GM Parts Direct sells at $58.32.
GM Parts Worldwide sells at $71.47 & $48.00 S/H for a total of $119.47.
Locally I got it for $155.68 CDN., taxes in from the dealer because I couldn't wait for 4 - 21 days for GM Parts Worldwide. The new part has a thicker gasket. I had great difficulty in getting it compressed enough to get the latches to catch. Hopefully it works this time.

1 Attachment(s)
Just had my rear washer go nuts too - Read through the thread - grabbed some tools and went to work.

Had a bit of moisture build up on the pcb cleaned it up but still had the same problem with the rear washer pump running continiously. New PCB time....

However being totally bloodyminded I took the board out of the cover, cleaned it again and dug a multimeter out..........

And the findings are.......

One resistor at the bottom of the board had water damage and had dropped from about 380 Ohms to 11 Ohms which instantly engaged the wash relay on the underside of the board.

Attachment 53209

Stole a pic and marked the resistor.

Removed resistor and all now works perfectly though one day I suppose I ought to get round to putting in a replacement.

Due to the location of the resistor I imagine this is the main cause of the washer going nuts so I hope it helps some people

The trouble of living in the UK is trying to source the parts quickly - I should have a new one heading to me - in a week or so. And as someone who has to sort fked electronics on a daily basis I thought it was worth at least a quick look!!

GM Parts worldwide has been a good service. Posted on the 5th Jan. Cleared customs and delivered on 9th. Still not as good as Rockautos though. I recieved a brake caliper from them for the H2. Ordered and delivered within 2 days.

Good to know. Had the old girl 3 years now and stacked 70,000 miles on her. Now getting all the little problems you get 2 days after your extended warranty has finished.......

Just an update on this. Finally got around to fitting the new circuit board yesterday. All the problems are now solved and everything is back to normal:excited:

Blue Thunder,
I can't find the cover and circuit board. What website and what part number did you use? I've dried out and resealed mine twice, but my wipers only work when it's NOT raining (of course), so I'm going to replace my circuit board.

Gene Culley at http://www.gmpartshouse.com/ can help you.
I buy Hummer and Corvette parts from him. His shipping is much cheaper than GM Parts Direct.
