It's an annual tradition to get big snow over Vail pass whenever we drive to Moab. Always happens.

At least one direction. Sometimes, we have a beautiful, uneventful drive out, and WHAM, a blizzard on the way back. Sometimes it's the opposite, but guaranteed one way.
