hmmmmm. tire up top should solve that. 8ft garage height will fix the rest. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Want to buy a slightly used Chrome jungle gym? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Are you getting rid of that one? Why? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>I'm winning the GOBI polished stainless, don'cha know. I already have all the stuff that fits on it, therefore, I should have the rack!

I think mine measured 94". 8 Ft could be cuttin it pretty close with 37" tires. Maybe Phil would let you park at his house. Sweet!

I didn't think about the problems swinging the out spare out on a side slope. Of course, I've only had mine for about 28 hours. Hmmm. As a side note, why is the tire carrier on the 06s made of lead? Actually, I kind of like such things in the day of plastic cars and trucks with plastic bumpers.

Cool pic, Dan.

Old truck: only took the spare out when wheeling.

New truck: on the rear for now.

Took it out of the truck, or out of the garage?

I just throw mine in the back for wheeling, you can kinda see it in that pic.

BTW, some jackass has his work truck parked in front of my house right now with the backup alarm going for about 10 minutes now. Not sitting well with my hangover. WTF! I'm going out there.

I just got mine and it as the rear tire swing. I'll just leave mine on because of all my good luck I have. The swing works so good it's not a problem to use, even for the wife.

Love the SUT w/o the spare---first thing I would do if I could afford another H2.

Pinhead 02-06-2006 11:12 AM

50,000 no spare.

soon to be in the garage after I pull the whole swing off the back of the truck. I've got that swing spare tire carrier for sale.

I had the dealership remove mine before I took delivery in September. I think it looks a lot cleaner without it. However I have many question what year it is because it is not on the back like the 06's. Who cares, it fits a hell of a lot easier into the garage also. For long trips I can throw it up top ubtil then thats what Onstar is for I quess!!!

I currently have mine on the back from our trip to moab....haven't decided to take it back off yet....too lazy i guess..

I plan to do the same with my 06 I pick up on 2/22/06 (yes - Im stoked!)

Question: My dealership said that they will have to "fill holes" in the sfrom taking the swing gate off -- how bad do the "fill-ins" look on the rear bumper and the rear trunk???? I'm worried it will look like CRAP.

DeBest 02-17-2006 10:35 AM

Ketoman11,

The dealership did a great job removing the carrier and the plugs look fine they actually replaced the bumper cover as well. My dealership charged me $700 to do the work!!!

I put the spare on a roof rack. Getting it down will be a royal PITA, but if I ever need it I have it.
