Hi FrgMstr,

I'm thinking of getting the same tire carrier but don't like the chrome handle... How did you "fix" it? If painted, what prep procedure was used?

Sandpaper, Primer, and Rustoleum (3 thin coats). In that order.

Has held up very well.
