OK, so I guess I'll give a little back story here.

I created my site a few months back and posted a bunch of pics from the NCHG trips I went on and used the club's name in the descriptions, etc. I also had put some Google ads on my site to try to recoup some of the costs. This apparently got the ire of Brian Piazza and his minions*. :rolleyes:

So after a discussion with him I agreed to make some changes. I removed all the ads and the club's name from all galleries and trip reports. Being a personal page with no possible commercial gain, he shouldn't have a problem, right?

So then comes the Pismo thread, Bebe's vid, angry PM's and emails, and all sorts of BS drama. :eek: Apparently Brian wants control of anything to do with the club and its events, including people's personal pics/vids.

Then the paranoia completely boiled over and we were accused of "sharing ...private correspondences between club officers" and were given the boot. :rolleyes: Whatever. :D

So who wants to go to Moab in August. I already have the time off. No waivers. ;)

So Sewie got fired for hosting the Pismo video on his personal site, and I got fired for making it. Actually, for "sharing" it with my "friends" at "Elcova".

When I told him I broke my front diff in Moab, he said "that's what you get for going out on your own". Nice eh??

Heres what I don't get -

Sewie has a personal site with no monetary gain. Just a little home page because he loves his H3 and wheeling.

Posting pics and video on a site like that or a forum can only help NCHG.

I joined NCHG because of Bebes invite on elcova. I spend $ at HS.

My buddy in San Diego joined becuase I was a member - he spends $ at HS.

Where is the problem?

Well for those that are still members, let this be a lesson. Sewie and I are being made an example of on your behalf.

Don't take pics or video, unless you plan on handing them all over to the Commandant. And then don't you dare post them for your friends to see!

We wouldn't want them to become inspired to wheel their Hummers! Nooooo. We really don't want the membership to grow, Nooooo. They have to pay to see photo's :rolleyes:
