Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Will the mount fit a Warn 9.5ti winch?
Just checking? Thanks |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Mounting bolt pattern is 10x4.5 inches, provides about 7.5 inches of depth from OEM grill guard to front fairlead, more room if no grill guard. I mounted a Warn xd9000i with no trouble.

Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
I would like one. Do you have on left?
|
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Cris - Do you have any of these in yet?
|
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Guys, I still have one left here, more being made up, could take a few weeks for the new batch to be finished. PM me for payment info.
|
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Chris how are those things holding up? Do you have anymore left? If so can you send me/post a couple of new pics? Have you altered the mount any (trimmed the edges)?
Thanks, Demo |

Hey Demo...still one here, same design, nobody's claimed it yet, more being made up. Holding up great, no issues, lots of use! |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
BTT
I'm broke from Christmas, but when I recover I'm gonna want one of these. Before April in Moab (My birthday present to myself). Do you still have one? |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
I just sold the last one, need to make sure I've got a few buyers before I make another batch...so let's see who sounds off here, a couple others have said they wanted one but haven't committed. Only 4 months to Moab, I can't wait.

Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Chris,
Same story here. I'll take one as soon as you can get one. Shoot me a PM for payment. There's at least 2 now. |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
I got one of the latest batch from Cris. I am really impressed and satisfied. Looks great! :perfect10s:

Thank you. I hope he doesn't take as long to answer mine as I did to answer his. I didn't see it for a month. I wish I was in FL playing golf. It's warm enough here, but raining.:beerchug: |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Alright guys, I gotta be honest here... each batch has sold quickly, but it's really not worth the trouble to me at that $225 price (after sandblasting, prep, prime & coating, I'm only making like $10). Not sure if I'm having any more made. If I do, I gotta get $275 for them, so sound off if that sounds fair...it is still the cheapest option for winch mounting on an H3. None left right now, they're made in batches of 4, so I need some orders before I have any more made up.

Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
I got one of these from Cris last month. I think he did a great job with design and fabrication. The welds are great and the entire mount is very sturdy and solid.
It is a great winch mount and I'm glad he had these put together. There is still not enough quality aftermarket wheeling products on the market for our trucks, let alone at reasonable prices. By the way, does anybody have any experience with the 10,000 T-Max integrated winch? Same mounting bolt pattern as the Warn, with a little more rated pulling power for the same money. |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
I have one of these that I got from Cris. No longer have the H3 but I have this piece. Let me know if you want it.
|
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Mine is holding up really well. It's still a very good deal at $275.
|
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Definitely worth $275. These are very strong units and hold up great. I recently used mine to pull out 2 H1s and a new F-350 running 46" tires, mount worked like a charm :beerchug:

Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
This is a well design and fabricated winch deck. I purchased the Warn XD9000i and a hard cover. I put it on alone and it took me about an hour including wiring it in.
![]() ![]() I chose to use 3M rubber undercoating and asked Cris to ship it to me raw. Thanks Cris, you can't go wrong with purchasing one of these. |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Hey Metal, that looks great with the hard cover, where'd you get that?
We've noticed an issue with extremely hard pulls, the grill cage wants to bend out slightly from all the rotational force...working now on fabricating upper attachment points from cage to grill to help, will send out to any buyers with a cage when finished. The metal bumper is actually what's being deformed from the pivot, no bending of the mounts. Not a huge issue, seeing how many trucks my winch has saved with only a little cage bend in Moab...but is is an issue I want to address. Still seems to be the cheapest way to get a winch on the front. |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
That's above and beyond Chris, very cool. Very cool.
|
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
I ordered the hard cover on line, but you can get them locally at any Warn dealer.
I can't find the diggie camera right now, I added two PIAA off road lights to the deck. Looks badass I think.... I have yet to fab up the steel guards to go around the lights, but when the weather breaks and i get time I will complete them. Also just to mention I am in the planning phase of a new brush guard as well. The OEM works okay.... But just doesn't identify with my rig, so to speak... I have tried a few sketches, and already know I am going to use schedule 40 1" pipe and when I am finished black powder coat. |

Thanks Demo....I don't want anyone doing damage to the bumper with the mount, seems it only needs a little reinforcement above to avoid the pivot...we'll see what I can come up with. Whatever it is, it'll require drilling to mount to OEM cage, and I think it'll work with most any other cage as well. I saw the same setup on another manufacturer's cage/winchmount setup...think it was Rough Country? Upper mounting points to help avoid the rotational force, should work with any grill cage. |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
What about lowering the mounting plate down to the middle...?? If I said make it a shaped like a T instead of an L would that make any sense..??
Instead of this (side view) _Winch_ |//// |/// |// |/ You have this.. |\ |\\ |\\\\Winch_ |/// |// |/ |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
That would fix the rotation, but lower the mount & cut off the approach angle.....and that's too important to lose!
|
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Do you loose anything the way it is now..??? Could it be dropped any at all before it cuts into the approach..??? Every little bit would be helping some...

Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Cris I had a chance to use the winch deck today, looks good, no doubt.
But as you mentioned, there is a problem with the pull. I thought the front end of my rig was going to pull off. My brush guard tweaked down towards the winch deck, and the front of my rig was bent. I stopped the pull because my whole front end was looking bad. Under a load of 1600lbs I didn't expect it to act like this. :twak: |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale

What??? 1600 lb pull & the bumper bent? Doesn't sound right....mine has handled some extreme pulls with no problems, until I really put a full load on it at a low angle.
The root of the problem seems to be the plates welded to the end of the frame for the D-ring attachment points; they are surprisingly thin at 3/16". I've drawn up new plates to weld on, 3/8" with angle gussets to help prevent the bending. They're being laser-cut this week, will send out to anyone who wants them, no charge. It'll require pulling the bumper & grinding off the old ones, then re-welding new ones on. Also may include 2 supports to go from grill cage to body metal at upper grill. Easy to fix that bend for now; I pulled my bumper (easy, 6 bolts, took an hour altogether), banged it out some from the inside, and used a pipe-wrench to straighten the mounting plates back up. I can't believe they only used 3/16 steel for those plates, beefing them up should fix the issue. I want eveyone happy, and for things to work right, and nobody should have to think twice about pulling out the winch. Attachment 38715 Attachment 38716 |
Re: H3 winch mounts for sale
Hey Cris, Good find on the problem, I suspected it had something the do with what was behind the bumper. Let me know how your coming on mod, I'll voluteer to go get really stuck for your to test out the new design...:jump:
I still need a winch mount once this issue has been resolved. |

I have used this one a few times on some long hauls. Would this show anything you have not already figured out. I got mine before you made yours. I wanted at first to just have the mount. This is one of those from Teka Toys but Im not sure who made it. The brush guard and plate were welded together. I checked those backing plates after reading this thread.

Who said the bumper bent Cris? I didn't say that, did I??????????? Nothing was bent, I stopped the pull before damage was done. I noted what was going on... Nothing more, nothing less. This is what I said, note that I have not REVISED what I am sharing... Quote:
I didn't, so I shared with you what was going on with the winch deck. I paid for it, and used it, and am giving you feedback on its use in the field. |
