I don't think it makes a difference. IMO if you have a dremel completly cutting it off would be easier than backing it up but if you're cutting it with a hack saw backing it up would be easier than completly cutting it off. |

After just removing the collar completely, I can answer my own question: If the seat is in its forward-most position, reclining the seat fully will cause the forward end of the "worm gear" to bind up against part of the seat frame. It doesn't seem to pose any real issue, but the frame will flex a bit under that pressure. |

After doing this mod, my seat memory buttons do not always return to the same position. I never once had a problem prior to doing this. Anyone else having this issue since the mod?
