OK. After 6+ hours, it finally downloaded. How do I get to it and why am I now sharing it with the world?

shipbldr 08-31-2005 01:40 AM

Thank you for downloading. I was watching your download end....

The way that Bittorrent (and hence bitlord) works is that it shares what it downloads.

Earlier today when I started the torrent I was the sole source of the file. When you started your download, I was the only source. Download speeds were around 4 to 10k/second.

Right now you and others are also distributing the file. I see people attaching to the torrent and getting download speeds of 180k/second as I write this. Part of that 180k is me, part is you. Thanks for your help "seeding" the torrent.

Now about viewing it:

Right-click on the : "H1, H2's, & Jeeps offroad at Paragon..." torrent line

Select "Browse Download Directory"

A window will open and you will see the video file.

You can now see where the file is on your hard drive. You can also click on it and play it.

Now its just an ordinary file on your hard drive.

In a little while I will be posting the 3.5 GB DVD image. It's a pig, but bitorrent will make it manageable for anyone who wants a copy to download it and burn their own DVD.

I hope I've answered the question well. If I haven't, please keep asking.

Charles

Here in the damn DESERT, every wheeling adventure is a virtual assault on my H2! The sand can be soooooooooo fine - like talc almost - and really abrasive. And the desert plants at this time of year are incredibly dry, brittle and hard - they'll REALLY do a pinstriping job if you're not careful. Thanks for the input - sounds like they really work well for you. Anybody have 'em and use'em out here in desert country? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Talc powder sand and scratching plants . . . sounds like Nevada!

Shields are great and definitely worth the investment. No problem with sand getting under the magnets and scratching the paint.

I usually put them on but didn't this past weekend.

Charles, I'll wait for the DVD. It was good to tag-team the traffic on the way home.

I tried the same thing on mine and the wood just missed me. Ouch...

I ended up using my winch to bend it back some.

What's with bumpers of late. That's 3 of us in the last few weeks. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Alec - YOUR ARE A GENIOUS... You have pointed out that the three of us represent a "Group Buy" on rear bumpers!

I think we should band together and get someone to finally make an integrated rear winch bumper.

Vendors are you listening? Check book open... </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I did the same thing, that's why I'm currently working on this prototype.
Not a peep about the welds or NO BUMPER FOR YOU!!!

KenP 08-31-2005 01:27 PM

How about a "squeak" about the welds?

shipbldr 08-31-2005 02:16 PM

Three thoughts:

1) Not to upset you, but it look like the shopping carts at the mall have been very unkind to your rig and scratched the bumper all to hell... Spend less time at mall.

2) I don't see a spot for stick on chrome "HUMMER" letters. This is a prtoblem because without them, people might think I am driving a Toyota.

3) (on a serious note) It looks really solid and I can't wait to learn more about it!!

Charles

What was this thread about... oh.... who cares it's a awesome bumper!
