we love the little guy he is so cute . it was great to see your truck , you did an awsome job on it

jp's-h3 02-05-2006 02:06 AM

There is a red one here in salt lake that had this done. looks pretty good! I might do this as well.

HummBebe 02-06-2006 05:17 PM

Are you going to get it done before MOAB??????

I don't regret it for a second. The look is great, but cleaning it now makes it totally worth it.

HummBebe 02-06-2006 05:20 PM

AND!!! Some of the Line-X shops can color match!

I think on the Red a deeper red rhino would look awesome

KenP 02-06-2006 08:34 PM

That looks great. I really like the durability of it. Are you going to do the grill?

HummBebe 02-06-2006 10:03 PM

No, I'm taking after Rox....I like a little Bling.....just a little

NEOCON1 02-18-2006 03:41 PM

i bet she likes sparkly diamonds

HummBebe 02-18-2006 04:23 PM

yes, diamonds are a girls best friend

Ma\'Deuce 02-19-2006 03:49 PM

Hummbebe looks great. how well does the linex hold it's color due to UV? does the weather degrade the finish?
Also, you consider doing the lower rocker section on the body, below the cut-line?
I've got an Avalanche now and would never consider getting one with out the body armor. It has saved thousands of dollars in repair to body panels. the hummer i'm purchasing is also black and will deffinately be doing this early on due to your pics. thanks.

HummBebe 02-19-2006 05:13 PM

If you go with Line-X, have them put the "epoxy" finish on it. It prevents fading.

Also, when it does eventually fade, they can retreat it with the same product and bring the Black w/luster back.

I love it, the mud comes off w/the pressure wash and looks great.....no scratches.

I line-xed everything that was plastic, top to bottom, and also did the Brushguard and RockRails. Not shown in these pics.

Thanks for the compliment I would love to see more out there, it is such a practical idea.

Great Look!! Very unique.

CampMaster 02-22-2006 12:25 AM

Very nice.

It had to be diffucult (psychologically) to intentionally disassemble your H3.

HummBebe 02-22-2006 12:28 AM

Putting it back together was worse

MarK M 02-22-2006 04:11 AM

Did you clean all that black rock mud? Did you hear about Eric (I think that’s his name) with the H1... after the black rock run, his H1 rusted all underneath, and he's still replacing lots of parts from it?

I heard that stuff was really thick and stuck to the rig?!

HummBebe 02-22-2006 03:23 PM

Yes, I got as much as I could find, and yes, my under carriage had some rust. Nothing big.

The mud in the Quinn river was highly sulphuric and corrosive. I still have stains on my window rubbers, the mud left it white.

But I will have to keep an eye on it.

Grrrr. I waited to long to wash it. From now on, wheelin on Saturday, wash truck on Sunday.

Here is the Mud. It doesn't get sticky, but it dries like concrete.

Yeah, cleaning off that BRD mud sucked. But it was worth it!

wannabeH3 03-15-2006 02:05 PM

thanks for the pics, this is something i was considering as well, as i have totally scratched up my fenders and mine is black too... can you post up some recent pic to see how its holding up? how much does it cost anyways? i just want the fenders done... i wonder how that would look without doin the bumper?

wannabeH3 03-15-2006 03:56 PM

also what about the weight, do you think you need to add supports in there for the fenders?

Looks exactly the same as when I put it together 2 1/2 months ago. I will post some pics soon though. I cranked the torsion bars too! She looks very Grrrr.
As far as supporting the fenders, line-x is very light weight, and thin. No support needed.

wannabeH3 03-16-2006 01:37 PM

very cool... how do you take the fenders off? is it a bitch? gimme instructions! now! i want to do this heh

HummBebe 03-16-2006 08:37 PM

Instructions would take forever to type. Just PM me when you are ready to get started on the project.

Plan on it being down at least two weeks.

I'll give you the info over the phone

Nav4-NEOCON1 03-23-2006 03:29 AM
