Re: Rubicon Run 2K6
Here is the latest. I am still in Moab as scheduled. We are leaving tomorrow to return to Albuquerque as previously planned. The dealer in Albuquerque will try and have mine repaired on Friday, if they have all the parts required. Will be covered under the GMPP. If they can repair it Friday and not need to order parts, I will still be on schedule for the Rubi. Saturday I leave for the Grand Canyon then to Phoenix. One day in each place gives me the time to get to the Rubi. If they have to order parts, the earliest that I will leave Albuquerque is Tuesday.:crying: :( :crying:
My trifecta is dependent on this dealer. I might have to wait until I move out here to do the Rubi! |
Re: Rubicon Run 2K6
If they don't have them in stock, see if they will just pull parts from another vehicle :)

Re: Rubicon Run 2K6
Plan for at least 2 full trail days if no one has problems ....

Plan for two nights. The trail can be done in two days. It is safer to leave the extra day just in case of breakdowns, slow going trail traffic, trail blockages etc. (We were there for two nights in July) This trail requires a certain amount of flexibility. I totally understand winging it would be tough with the little ones. |
Re: Rubicon Run 2K6
Allllll righty then. I'll plan on spending two nights in the new Tent-aroo. Then I won't have to worry about a room at the end of the trail until I'm actually off of it. :) I'd rather stop and camp somewhere earlier in the evening, than get off the trail after dark and have to worry about somewhere to stay. I'm assuming it's okay to pitch a tent anywhere along the trail. California. UGH! This is out of my comfort zone!;)
I'll be flexible! I promise! Thanks for the info. I guess this means we'll have to take all the easy lines. :D:D:dancingbanana: |
Re: Rubicon Run 2K6
So, I should schedule everybody on Tuesday just in case... :( I'm with H2F, winging it with kids is a little more difficult...

Re: Rubicon Run 2K6
I know some people are bringing poo buckets, but is anyway bringing a potty tent also? My wife is having a hard time being too "one with nature" :)

Yes, Bebe is bringing a PETT. Tent/toilet, whole works, just need your own bags. http://www.outbacktoilets.com/Products.html |

Re: Rubicon Run 2K6
I can almost smell the sudden trepidation.:giggling:
Stop trying to make our peeps askeered. They've already got to sh*t in bags in the woods all the while making sure snakes don't bite their asses.:jump: Who says we have to do the whole trail. From the intel I'm getting, the top part of the Rubi' is pretty chewed up. My buddy with the professional caliber rock rig is going to be running it from the top down to meet us so he'll give us a good assessment of the last 1/3 of the trail. It's going to be sofa king fun!!!:jump: |
