Sadly, we didn't get through this freakin' rock garden. It's only .5 miles to the end of the trail from here. There are two main routes up this thing. The H3s could have gone through here because there was a 3rd bypass through some trees. We tried for almost and hour to squeeze my h2 through, but it wouldn't fit. So, believe it or not, we had to turn around because the H2s. :( Most of the rock garden is not difficult, but that one impassible point on each route kept us from the top. In the end, that didn't really matter because we had an excellent day.

Bring a chain saw next time!

Dude there is NO FREAKIN WAY your rig would have made it up the Garden THIS time. Erosion and Rigs diggin it out have really taken its toll up there.

Ed, and I....some originals from CONSORT made it up the ROCK GARDEN NO PROBLEM.......I didn't need a strap at all..........And I've also rode up spring creek in my buddy Kyle's jeep that has made the rock garden with no issues and he has the exact same set up as me.............oh........and that was when I just had a BUDGET BOOST and 32 inch tires..........

The ROCK GARDEN is no more difficult then it's been for 3 or 4 years...

stock TJ's can make it to the city at Holy Cross but you are going to act as if I'm lying and cant get my TJ up the Spring Creek Rock Garden...:violin: :jump:

Sure ... if you take the bypass between the trees ;)

jk, your short wheelbase will make a big difference. Let us know when you want to try it. I for one really want to drive the shelf road down to Georgetown (lamartine trail?).

that shelf road is soooooo damn pretty! I went up Spring Creek and out that way and was very impressed........

I don't think the short wheelbase would be an advantage at all. If he takes the route to the right (officially "the bypass") then it seems rather passable because a Jeep is so much more narrow. The problem with H2 in that section is that it's a bit too wide to get it to fit between the boulder and the tree.

We walked up and assessed the whole garden and it's pretty much a CAKE WALK for an H2. There is just that one point, on both routes, that's too difficult to pass through.

Moon, I know you can wheel and I ain't no Jeep basher (cause I want one in addition to my Rig) But...

Case of beer says your Rig doesn't make up the main left route through the Garden (without winching or strapping or stacking rocks). I include the Stacking of Rocks because you say NO PROBLEM.

ooohh ohhhhh, I want in on this too. Straight up the main trail. no bypass, no winch, no strap, no jacking, just drive up it = case of beer from Tim. I think it would be cool to watch a rig go though that.... other than a Yota wth 40's.... unless Moonie got a lift and locked his rig front and rear. hmmmmmmm.

I know that NoMo wants to do the trail too. I'd be up for running it again too. Let me know.

My jeep will suprise many of you as it has many before. All I ever hear is "you aint gonna make that" and 80% of the time I walk it with ease...... Now I'm not a "hardcore" rock crawler but that small bet will be a fun one as I've run the rock garden before and dont plan on coming back to this forum a loser..........:D

But I dont agree with "no rock stacking"

I'm not gonna build a ****ing bridge, but I might need a rock here or there. I'll agree to "no strap or winch"........;)

Looks like a great trail you guys! The shelf road is a little Friggin narrow huh? I hate those!

I see Mooncricket hasn't changed a bit...:twak: You have to at least wait until Tim gets back from the Rubicon before you do the rock garden, I'm sure it's something he won't want to miss.:beerchug: Don't forget the six pack Moonie. :D
