The Green Lantern 01-23-2006 11:13 PM

Z, Question on the rear light set?? Did you have to Drill, and how did you wire ??? Thanks.

Yeah I know, it's them cheap ass tires. I got a branch stuck right dead in the center of the tire. I was on a dirt trail and ran over a branch and that's all she wrote. The Cut is over 1" and unfixable. Time to sell my tires and get some real off-road rubber.

Wired internal and to the tail lights. I hope this answers your question.

Re: Rear Roof Lights

Well, I must have done something wrong. I installed 3 LED small marker (each has 3 LED's) lights centered on tailgate, wired them all to driveside rear light they worked. Added 2 additional LED marker lights (one on each top rear corner of tailgate) and now no workie!!!! Any thoughts, I afriad that the extra load from the LED's (would think so as LED is very low load) has cooked the wire from the front of vehicle to rear. :crying: I'll be pulling it apart tonight to see what I can find. All wiring is installed corrected and protected from accidentail groundings.

BTW all other lights are working, just the driver taillight and LED's are not working.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Wow, I remember this thread. I don't have those lights anymore. They look good at night though. :giggling:

Quick question - what color wire did you tap into? I am thinking about adding lights like your set up.

Re: Rear Roof Lights

OK, try this post again as it didn't work the first time. The LED light I purchase only require one wire for power. The ground is provided when you screw them to the tailgate. I will be using the brown wire in the trailer wiring harness located under the bumper just behind the lic plate. I hope to have it done today if it doesn't rain all day. The lights have been installed and the wiring is in place I just need to make the final connection.

Well, LED markers are final done. Problem with drivers taillight was blown fuse. LEDs are now wired into trailer harness.

Here's close up of center three:

I'll take some pics later with them on.

Extra brackets on rack are for PIAA 2100 Foglights.
