Driver side is cracked here too.

2 days ago I was fine I have ben looking at them.

We had a cold snap here in GA mid 20's and bam today I saw the drivers side cracked...looks the same as in all the pics posted same angle length everything.

I bet those in super warm climate dont have the problem. I think the front of both rails are installed under stress when the temp fluctuates and the plastic expands and contracts that area is obviously the weakest link.

I have a call into the HUMMER Manager in Jax and he didnt know about the problem but now he does..

I will wait for both a pillars and bot side rails and have them do all 4 at once.

I talked with my dealer yesterday, scheduling a trip into the dealership today (new decoder motor ). He had never heard of the PI on the side roof rails, just stated they were backordered and not sure when he would get them in.
I guess even in the Detroit area, the customers have to educate the dealers on what bulletins and PIs are in the system for the vehicle.

I'm joining the club!
Checked last night and the drivers side is cracked. Didn't check pass side, but it probably is too. Both will get replaced under warranty anyway...

Count me in my H3 is cracked on the drivers side also. The only problem so far I'll just wait for thr fix

Add another one to the list. Anyone else getting a loud buzzing noise since the crack? It seems to only happen when there is a strong cross wind and your traveling about 60-70mph. My local dealer tried a silcone temp fix. Didn't work and now I have silicon residue bordering the A-pillers. As for the warmer climate owners not having this issue, not the case. I live in San Diego, my H3 has never seen cold.

Just talked to dealer .All old style rails were sent back and not to be installed. They said I will get a notice in the mail similar to the one on the rear washer pump.(they replaced that today)Also fixed loose taillight.rotated tires oil change I got a tahoe as a loaner .
My next oil change will be around May hopefully they have the new rails in by then ,the service guy(nice guys over at ramp)said the rails will be replaced with complete sets.

80 degrees in SE GA today was 37 3 days ago.

well guess what these are cracking due to expanding and contracting.

last week the gap where the crack is ws 1/4" perhaps more.

today I looked at it and guess what the gap is less than an 1/8" to the point I cant even see the crack the expansion has pressed the gap in the crack together and the crack is now under the top of the a=pillar trim piece.

no wondeer they are all cracking once the mounting bolts are tightened down and the piece expands the area cracks and we all have the same area once it gets hot the piece gets 1/4" longer.....

was very surprised to see this I had no idea the plastic would shrink and grow that much it all makes sense now...perhaps crappy plastic, they must be re tooling them with a harder durometer plastic to keep the shrinking and expansion down or at least I hope they are...if not (if they used the same plastic it will keep happening)

Oh and the gap on my pass side was always a bit tighter cold or hot...with it being so hot today the 2 parts damn near were touching eachother........

with the temp fluctuating so much here it was very noticable...looks like the inside of the top rails were bowed up off the roof a bit also.

****ty plastic IMO

Both rails cracked here also. Other than looking terrible, has anyone noticed any problems (ie leaks, etc) caused by the cracks???

As been stated many times, there is no problem with water leaks, these rails are not water tight and not designed to prevent any water intrusion into the vehicle. In fact, they make one of the best places to run wires from one end of the roof to another end.

Both are cracked on mine as well. Another trip to the dealer. I'm glad they're less than a mile from the house!

Trim colors don't match now. Guess when I get mine fixed I'll just have to Line-X it.;)
