Re: Hummer Sold !!!!

Gang all I can say is the new owners cannot do a worse job than GM. If I had ever bought a new rig with GM on it I was going to take that off anyway. New company I hope will just leave the basic name H2 etc. and not add their name or initials. If they do I do not mean it to be a protest or disrespect to foriegn owners but, as we Hummer owners are quite resourseful and change whatever name any company tries to use other than the standard old basic names.

Honestly I'm just glad to know Hummer lives to spite those tree huggin leaf licking farts who were hoping Hummer would just die.

HAIL TO THE BEAST LONG LIVE THE BEAST WHICH IS HUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chinese Hummer is an oxymoron and GM's decision is simply moronic. If you guys think for one second that the communist backed Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co. is interested in building the Hummer name versus learning how to play in the U.S. automobile market only to compete against the incumbent players that are already here, then just ask Dell how much they are enjoying the sale of IBM PCs to Chinese Lenovo!

I will never buy a Chinese Hummer. The deal is not closed yet. I encourage you to share your feelings with GM at: http://www.gm.com/utilities/contact_...deep=feedback#

And Hummer at: www.hummer.com

Net, net, the brand is more valuable to us later should GM shut it down temporarily and re-introduce it later when the market is back...just as they did the Camaro. If they sell it to the Chinese, it will be gone forever!

I don't give a sh!t who buys Hummer or where they are made, as long as I can keep driving them and they come out with new/improved models. If a Chinese built Hummer is of better quality, I'd buy it. I think GM has depended on people to buy crappy cars just because they are "American" for far too long.

I see the wheels falling off this china deal fast... maybe there is still hope for AM General to buy the name back and continue to make them in low volume high profit which would be good for all of us in respect to re sale and keeping the brand USA. Otherwise if it goes through we can thank big O for selling our beloved brand out to the chinese. I think GM had little to do with the "sale" Let's face it guys... if the china guys get it, we are not going to see an updated H2, they are going to buy the name and maybe keep the H3 around for a while, did you notice that in all of the hype, there is little or no mention of H2 product?

And this could well happen. But why would someone spend the money and not utilize the brand and all of its potential to its fullest extent? You do realize that Hummer was well on its way to bringing out a revamped H2, right? And the HX is pretty much ready to take the last step towards production. Plus, there's a couple of other things in the bag too. Whomever buys the rights to Hummer would be wise to make the most of everything available. Also, moving production out of the U.S. would effectively kill the Hummer's largest market. The rest of the world isn't going to buy a Chinese "Hummer" either. I'm betting the tentative buyer is well aware of this.

Racist? Nope, I'm not and further I'm not seeing a lot of racist comments here. I AM seeing a lot of National pride! I'm an AMERICAN...my race frankly doesn't matter(that you need to tell me yours tells me something about you though)...again, I'M AN AMERICAN...I prefer to buy things built in AMERICA by companies that are owned by AMERICANS.

Re: Hummer Sold !!!!

just what Cazador said... I don't see a racist remark on here. I don't care if its China, Europe, South America... we just don't want to see the brand sold out of country. I think everyone hoped a domestic company picked up the brand.

Sorry, I didn't know "Chink" was a cool word to say. Can I use it like "nigga," "cracker," "spic," or "gook"?

Oh and by the way, I bet you 50% of the things you own are not 100% AMERICA!!! Even the H2.

Uh Oh... this does not look good, GM just released model specs on all of the 2010 models, and I don't see any 2010 Hummer product. Not good. Check it out at:

Re: Hummer Sold !!!!

I'm getting burned out on all the speculation - we thought we had a sale to the Chinese, but it's far from a done deal - then we thought production would start this month on the 2010 H3 and H2 and now the word is MUM - one thing is for sure, if I take good care of my H2 it will last a lot longer and I won't have to worry about replacing it with a new one. One look at Lynch's online inventory and the handwriting on the wall looks bleak! I seem to see less Hummers on the road these days - are they all going overseas? Nothing will be known until if and when they start manufacturing the 2010 H3 and H2.

Hummers are not coming to Europe either I just looked on Geigercars web site he has 13 total with a mix H1,H2,H3 when I got mine in 2006 from Him he had over 100 on the lot at any given time. He has been inviting me to events to show off mine. The Hummer nation is going to ground over here just dont see them on the road any more not that there are a lot running around in Germany anyway.
