I'm sure that if you ever get a chance to ride a Honda CBR then you wouldn't miss that DUCK at all . I just sold my ducati a couple of months ago and yes I did miss it for a little while but I also sold my CBR954RR and I missed it even more. However, my CBR1000RR has made me forget about them both .

DH22G 04-13-2006 02:36 PM

yeah . i know how that is... i am waiting for tim to bring me his so i can get my fix.. this 80 degree weather isnt helping

HMR22 04-13-2006 05:48 PM

No disrespect to ducati owners but, Ducs are pretty overated.

Ray, I just noticed a statement on one of the sites you linked where it says using a hitch extender will decrease your tongue rating by 50%. What do you think about that?

Thanks,

Pete

Yea, that hitch extender is really creating some leverage. I have a similar carrier for an ATV and use it without extension on my Expedition and it puts A LOT of pressure on that hitch.

Speaking of bikes, here is my bike. Its registered and 100% street legal: http://www.marissa.org/street_banshee/

I'm not sure...mine works fine with the 7" extension. The bike only weighs around 400lbs wet, so i don't think it's gonna be any problems.

Thanks Ray. I've been unable to find an extension shorter than 12" in town, but I rode my new CBR home on Friday anyway.

Thanks, I'm stoked about it. I went with silver, too.

great color choice. i just installed the yoshimura RS-5 carbon fiber exhaust on mine...sounds really mean. i will post pics after i add a few more things. i think this is by far the best bike i've ever owned.

TXSUT 04-26-2006 03:24 PM

Cool, I'd like to see pics with the Yosh installed. I haven't made up my mind about exhaust yet, but leaning towards Arata or Akrapovic. I just ordered my Power Commnder yesterday, along with an Ohlins rear shock. Race Tech internals for the front fork is up next.

congrats on the bike, I have the same suspension set up on my R6. You'll love it. Do you guys get out to the track much? If so which ones?

HMR22 04-28-2006 02:07 AM

Another question, Have you tried to haul your bike with the carrier with the spare tire off? Does it fit? Does it still stick out to far?

i haven't tried hauling the bike with the spare off but i'm sure that would be even more secure without the extension.

My last track bike was an '03 600RR. Unfortunately, it tossed me into oblivion one fine August afternoon in a high-speed corner. Concussion, shattered shoulder, shattered collar bone, seven broken ribs, lacerated liver and spleen...but I will be back!

bigolH2 05-01-2006 01:39 PM

Be very careful guys, I totaled a dirt bike a while back using a similar model. Unfortunately I didnt have the any stabilizers on and when I hit a drop in the road the bikes shocks compressed enough to make the strap buckle break when it came back up. Thank God it dragged underneath my truck untill i could pull over, instead of falling into the crazy atlanta traffic! Just a thought, reinforcement is key!
