Dallas and Phoenix both have these advantages:
- Lower crime rate in both cities - Very little snow - Both states allow Concealed Carry! - Both states love truck loving, rough and ready SUV's. - Both states support weapons up to .50BMG without any questions - Both areas have active Hummer clubs Advantages for Dallas: - Diverse - In the top 10 cities in the United States based on population (#8 in the 2000 Census) - Higher mean average income (33k per resident vs. 29k per resident in Phoenix) - Lower average daily temp in the summertime (85 in Dallas vs 95 in Phoenix) - Larger overall labor force - Lower median home price (135k vs. 190k in Phoenix) Advantages for Phoenix: - Diverse - # 6 in Population - Better wheeling - Arizona's CCW allows concealed carry for anything. Texas' CCW specifically states pistol only. - If you want snow - drive north 2 hours. If you don't want snow, stay home! - Lower overall humidity - Smaller and denser metroplex from a land standpoint- less driving! - Close to Lake Havasu and some killer spring breaks! -Very good Hummer dealers Both cities won't be bad choices. -Steve |
Hey, If you don't choose Garland, I'd love to interview for the job, been looking for some time now and really would like to stay here, vs. moving to Phoenix.
Send me a Private Msg. Re. the job if you don't mind. Ok, I now change my vote to Phoenix. D N Dallass |

I can't say I know much about where the crime in Phoenix is. But as far as Dallas goes, 95% of that crime is all in the hood. You'd be nuts to move there. But when you move to the nice parts of town, or the nice suburbs, it's virtually crime free. Except for that incident last year where 2 guys broken into an older mans house in the nice part of town to rob him. He then shot the intruders. On the front page of the paper they showed a picture of the guys laying dead in his front yard where they stumbled to and died. That's what happens when you mess with Texans. Now comes the smart ass comment from drtfn </div></BLOCKQUOTE>I doubt it. DRTY, myself, or any other gun owning American doesn't want their carpet stained. Shoot the bad guys once or twice so they can die in the yard like dogs. Not in the house. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> You betcha! ![]() |
As far as Arizona having great Hummer dealerships and Dallas not. I take offense to that.
AS far as Garland goes, that is good since you won't have to screw with the Dallas traffic, just get a nice house in Plano, McKinney or Frisco, you'd have a short commute, cheap price of house that will skyrocket in the next few years, and you're set. Welcome to Texas. |

I have heard nothing but great things about the Dallas dealers and nothing but bad things about the Arizona dealers. McKinney is a great place to buy a house. My buddy bought there and I was shocked what you could get for the money. |
My in-laws bought a 3k sq ft home 2-3 yrs ago for about $200k. They're building the same model a few miles closer to phoenix and selling them for $500 now....
I agree with Drty. Nice cans ![]() ![]() |
Even if I don't get the job I think I will buy property in both places

Hey, the market is booming here in Orlando. If you want to buy a big mansion down here, I will be nice enough to watch over it for you

Having never dealt personally with any of the Texas dealers, I can't vouch personally for how they act or how they treat their customers. Note that I never said that they aren't good or great - I have no knowledge of it.
So - take offense all you want. I'm not going to give an opinion for something I don't have personal knowledge of. ![]() <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by Hummertech: As far as Arizona having great Hummer dealerships and Dallas not.
