Re: MOAB RUN 2K7

We're doing Pritchett, Metal Masher, Behind the Rocks, Cliff Hanger (if weather permits), and I personally would like to go to area BFE and play around and also look at doing Moab Rim.

Right now, we have one smallish group already put together for these runs and since each of these have a much higher chance of body damage, will be very technical and slow, we are limiting the number of trucks that are going with our group. I know that others have talked about going about the same time and will likely do other trails, so different groups will have to be set up to accomodate everyone's trail fun.

Obviously, there will be days and parts of days where all that are there can get together and "play around" in the same area. Like tater salad, Lion's Back (if it's still open), etc.

Most are planning on nearly a week's stay, so with the trails we are wanting run and wanting to stay for a week, we need to firm up the dates in the next week or two.

Tim,
Prompt delivery of that blacked-out grill will certainly move you up the priority list. ;) :D

Which way are you guys wanting to run Behind the Rocks. It sounds good either way and more difficult doing it backwards.

Not sure. Whatever is more convenient so we can head over to Upper Helldorado afterwards.

Generally, our group tries to find the trails that haven't been run by Hummers before. Some H1s might have done Pritchett but to my knowledge no H2s have, yet.

I spoke with Dan Mick about running it the last time I was there. I thought it would be a great trail to run next year. I will be very interested to hear about your adventures there and how it turns out.

What are the ages of ya'll kids. My daughter is not out of school but for a few days at Easter (April 6-9) but she is only in K5. So it will not matter as much. Next year in first grade it will matter, we might have to do like CP and Ken and have me fly out and Paragon drive out there by himself. Maybe take our dog with him.

Hey Rocks I love that Pic of the Hummer on top of the Gonzo Inn sign. I think they need a copy of that to put with all of their pictures.

I'm kinda glad we won't be able to bypass this on our BFE run. It should keep the trail traffic to a minimum.

My boys are 9 & 12, they can't wait for this off-road excursion. Is anybody actually planning this trip? Do we need to sign up or ante up ahead of time? Places to stay? These are the kinds of details that decide whether my wife even considers coming! Please advise, we'd love to join you all....

This is not an organized event. No club or other organization is involved. It's simply a few individuals that want to get together and wheel some of the trails in Moab in like vehicles. My suggestion would be to get with some of the other H3 owners and find out what their plans are and try to plan accordingly.

X2.

Contact Hummbebe. She generally tries to get 10-12 carloads of H3ers into a condo. I'm assuming you're OK with 3 to a bed (twin, possibly full size).
