No, the end of the axle shaft most probably has a circlip or something to retain it. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Not if the axle were twisted in two, Phil. The C-clip is inside the differential case, once the axle is broken the only thing holding the axle in is the rotor/brake caliper/bracket.

Sorry Bebe, but he is actually a very nice guy that helped us a lot with traffic on the trail in Tellico. If it were not for him that day I think HI would have killed the driver of a particular dead truck
