He did say they tested it as is and saw no flex. But he didn't say whether or not they would add the fourth support in the future.

I am thinking about ordering the Rocky Road "Rails" and was wondering if I would have to do any drilling in the frame or if all the holes line up? What would you say the difficulty in installing them are?

Thanks Gary in KY

No they use the existing holes in the frame. I put the OEM ones on myself. Takes about 30 mins or so. Not really that difficult but an extra set of hands would help.

That should work. I guess they are compatible with the OEM under carriage protection?

I just put the oem rock rails on. Very beefy. They are compatible with the oem under carriage protection.

Took just under an hour to install both sides. I would recommend a second set of hands to hold the rails. The drivers side was harder because you had to work around the parking brake cables.

Well, I can tell you that I stested the hell out of mine today. That bottom tube on the rck rails is very important.... and they did their job today very well. I stood ricks up under them, dropped on them, and slid them across many rocks today. The factory UCP held up very well also. Scratched to hell, but no bending or even dents. very good quality! Just think if you bought some Maink ones or some crap like that. oooohhhh, I wouldn't want that invoice.

Looking good, H3slate. Now I know what mine will look like when I get them :D

Went on the Spring Creek run with timgco today and his factory rock rails were a godsend. They did their job perfectly under extreme conditions.

Those amstars rails are made of 3/16" steel so it should be pretty strong. It think thats what other rock rails are made out of.
