Going to look good once you get the wheels and the fuel door done!

Re: painting wheels My balancing weights are on the outside of the rims. Can I just move them to the same spot on the inside and be close enough for a while? And if so, how do you do that. It looks like the tab holding them on is wedged under the bead and the bead on the inside edge of the tire overhands the rim quite a bit. |
Re: Black it out!
Phil, what's up with your rims? New?
I'm thinking about painting ours. |
Re: Black it out!
Pretty sweet. I was informed, however, that I won't be doing that.:( ;)

I'm planning on painting the spare wheel while the wife's not paying attention and then wait to see what happens. She insists the chrome grill has to stay "for the contrast":mad: So I don't expect things to go well when I do the wheels. I think I could get away with powder coating them, but I think shell use the "redneck" word if I paint them. |

Mine is blacked out except for the H2 emblem and new mirrors. I had the '04 mirrors chrome when I bought, then I traded my chrome mirror caps for black but traded the 04 mirrors for the 06 mirrors so I'm back to chrome. I think I'll paint them soon, maybe even paint the H2 emblems on the side. Oh, forgot the tail pipes, I think they will stay chrome.

I found a guy in Tonica, IL (way, way South). (www.powderperfect.com)
I checked in the Chicago area with no luck--everyone that I called seemed to have the same price but when it came to sandblasting, forget about it. Then, when they found out it was for an H2, they would say, "$$Hummer$$?". The guy at Powderperfect was great. I bought 4 take-offs and delivered them myself, then picked them up later. Actually, they are metal flake when you get close. -- is that considered bling? Inert-bling maybe. If you are getting new rims, you might just have them shipped to Powderperfect and then go pick them up. I got a bunch of ideas from this forum. Lugnuts, replacing the mirror with warranty, and instructions for taking the console out to put in Ipod interface--. |
Re: Black it out!
No Bling........looks not bad, if done right.......I just prefer a "bit" of bling....

They have Stick on weight that can be put on the inside of the rim. Check with your balancer!....If NO Les Schwab around! :) |

I have weights both inside and outside. They try to balance them most of the time with inside weights only but my MT/Rs have been extremely hard to balance and I told them to do inside and out to try to get the tires to settle down at 75MPH. Just take them in to get balanced and tell them to only weight the inside. If the dealer does it, that's all they should do, anyway. |

Hummer Geek,
Why did you change to the '06 mirror caps? |
Re: Black it out!
Quote:
He probably had defective mirrors. MOST dealers will give you '06 mirrors under warranty if your MIRROR'S SUCK!!! |

Who makes these wheels? Are they powder coated? |

Bill, They are made by DeModa : http://www.demodawheels.com/ They are called the Intimidator II and they are available in black like your picture or with a black and machined finish. I bought a black set to go on my SUT - they make a specific model for the H2. Pics to follow. |

Yeah, the original mirrors were defective, the dealer tried to fix, then replace--no matter what they vibrated and wouldn't return after they were folded in. I rented an H2 in Florida and it had the same mirror problems. The new ones are much better--except for the chrome. |

I'm so proud to finally be able to post my truck in this thread. Last weekend I rattle canned my rims using the same stuff Phild used and also painted the ski racks with a flat paint. All I gotta do now is Line-X the grille and I'll be done.

Re: Black it out!

Re: Black it out!
yea tires size is, but the way its designed the windows are about level with a stock h2, then where the G has so much head room with the box design it makes my roof higher than a h2 :( have to watch where i go so i dont become a convertiable.
