He's steering the rear of that bridge beam. Just like the guy steering the rear of a ladder truck. |

For steering around corners, similar to the old long hook and ladder firetrucks. It would hurt if that beam fell on his head.:giggling: |

We should have camped here, but we had no idea what was waiting for us up the road. Now we know why everyone kept saying, "I've never been all the way thru the Rubicon, I always turn around half way".
This is by the Lake (can't remember the name of it.:o )(buck or something) This part of the trail was just like the exit of Goldenspike. Ledges that needed a little bump to get up. Tim was right, this made Goldenspike look like a cakewalk. :crying: I'm really glad I was with people I know and trust. Thanks everyone! I'll stack rocks for you guys anytime!:perfect10s: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: |

Observation Point. I parked, looked around for a minute and then started down the trail pruning and cutting as I went.

IROKs > ALL
IMO, there isn't a tougher, more capable tire for this kind of wheeling. My wheels took some abuse, but not as much as I thought they would. Wheel protectors are on the list of things to make. |

Barely even a mark on the tires. After watching my tires grind around & off of all the rocks I was sure there'd be some kind of tears on the sidewalls.

Bumper held up like a champion. Somehow I did manage to slightly bend the center piece of 1/4" plate. Think it was on The Big Suck Sluice.
Again, a little sanding & rattle canning and it'll be good as new.:D |

The Rubicon definitely doesn't like fender flares either.

"Doesn't like" might not be a strong enough term. Hate might be better.
If it weren't for all of the extra rock-stacking those flares would be completely gone. |
