On the last trip out to the PINS, I got 6.8 with a very strong headwind, and 10.9 tailwind on the way home(best MPG yet!)

Yeah Headwind kills me. |
Actual average MPG:
26,142 miles/2341.78 gallons = 11.16 MPG Ric |
11 mpg (with Corsa Sport) Previous Pewter H2
10.9 mpg (Stock Exhaust) Yellow H2 Currently on vacation in Southern Cal, drove the 2004 Prius I bought my dad last year (48 mpg baby!). As with both H2's we've owned, the mpg doesn't seem to be effected by city/highway/mixed driving. No matter what, we just averaged around 11 mpg. |

Just kidding, I get about 16 to 18 mpg Front Locker, Stealth winch, 37" Super Swampers SSR,low center of gravity = Ultimate H2 </div></BLOCKQUOTE> You're getting 16-18 mpg w/ 37" tires? WOW! Any mods done to improve efficiency? What octane fuel are you running? |
ya right, 16-18 mpg, were talking about your H2 not the wifes mini van. '03 with 39,000 miles with K&N filter system 10-12 mpg, 8-10 on highway depending on the wind direction.

10.8 at 13,500 miles.

I am so tired of the a$$holes at the gas stations asking me this question. "What kind of mileage do you get?" My reply has been a straight-faced "32".

10.8 @ 32K
When I get asked at the gas station the magic question, I just laugh and say better than my Suburban and I leave it at that! ![]() |

That seems to be a good answer--they are so stunned they cannot get anything out of their mouth. I think i get around 10.5 or so with 35's. |
I had some guy at the gas station come unglued on me when I got out to fill up. He called me a "troop killer". I calmly told him to turn around and look at the full size van he was driving and tell me what he gets for gas milage in that montrosity he had, as he was giving me a puzzled look I told him think before he speaks next time or he is going to have a 4 knuckle imprint on his forehead.

I am getting 11 mpg with 7,000 miles.
|
average around 11 w 19K
|
I had a similar experience. A couple of yuppies pulled up in their Honda and told me I was the reason we were at war and that because of me our troops were being killed
![]() Like you I calmly asked them were they lived, the answer was La. I asked how many trips to Las Vegas do you make per year? Answer twice a month. So I said on top of your joy rides to Vegas, you average what like 400 miles a week too and from work? One of the idiots barked out hell I drive 1k per week. Trying not to laugh I told them both I don't put a thousand miles a month on my truck so who is polluting more, who is using more gas? With a flurry of cuss words they jumped back in there rice burner and peeled out of the gas station. _______________________________________________ Quote:

12.6 with 56,000 miles it.
|
06 with 1200. miles. Sometimes I can get 12.7 around town, driving like a old fart but not my style. Most of the time 11.0 like everyone else.
|
you know if I baby it around I can almost get 10 mpg. I guess its the racer out of me that wants to race other big trucks.,.......LOL
|
I usually say I get around 11 GALLONS to the mile. LOL
Averaging about 11.8 at 5,000+ miles. Just installed Corsa Sport exhaust today. Wonder what I'll get now? |
Albie, Ive got 38s, exhaust and a volant intake and I am barely gettin 9.9! Programmers on its way and that should help a little more! You!
|
12.5 on our 2004. Both 2003's were a tick over 11.0. Not sure why since driving habits and routes were exactly the same. Did they do something in 2004 to make it better?

2003 H2 35K Miles, Superchip, AirRaid, Borla Exh w/ resonators chopped off and straight dual 4" pipe from the muffler back, Stock tires and rims. Getting 8-9mpg city, 18-20 on the freeway if I avg 80-90mph. Go to and from SanDiego and Northern Cal at 80-100mph when I can, even with the trans in down shift mode because the accelerator pressed so far, and do the math on the calculator at the gas station, and it is religiously 18-20 mpg. Even pulling 2000 lbs of Jet Skiis at 70-75mph I still get 15mpg. Go Figure. I DO drive a bit aggressive in the city (I grew up driving in Boston) But on the freeway, I think it's because of the lack of backpressure with the resonators gone, the motor breathes real nice on the freeway. The truck LOVES to get out and run!

12.0 with highway and off roading... not much city driving except freeways. Better then I thought when I bought it. Just as good as a whole lot of trucks and SUV'. SO THERE
|
Sure shows the physics of the problem. Our Denali gets 15 average and up to 19 on the highway. Barn door theory proven.
