You don't need no stinkin' home insurance. Just wait for something to happen then complain to news reporters that the government should pay for it since you aren't insured. It's foolproof!

I have Allstate as well. But... insurance for my H2 alone is over $4k/year (w/no accidents, tickets ever) so the home owners insurance doesn't seem bad when next to that number. Plus, I have multiple policy discount which knocks a lot off.

Re: Home Insurance

Got my new quote from the company taking over the old one that went bankrupt (yeah frucking whatever). It is double of what it used to be.

Add another house to the over saturated market in FL, This has just pushed me to sell and move to another state.

No property tax will cover the increase in insurance rates. I haven't looked into since last week, so not sure if it went through or not. If it did/does it will be cheaper to have a home in FL!

That's why decided to stay put for now.

Virginia is nice, and our home owner's insurance is cheap. I'm sure a new skate park would be great.

Yeah tax cut is a good thing if your like you and I. I don't like the idea of 8% sales tax on everything. But with that said, I buy most of my stuff online and most of the time do not pay sales tax or shipping.

I am really on the line on this issue, I can't decide if I am for it or not.
I have that bad feeling the we will all get screwed in the end.

Yes, I miss VA. And the (indoor) park idea is already in my head. I just need to see the demographics for the surrounding area for household age and income.

Virginia Beach

City next door may be even better since all the kids go to the Beach to skate:
Chesapeake

I write Homeowners policies for Allstate in IL, from what I heard Allstate doesn't write any new homeowners policies right now in Florida. Thank all the people and their Over-exorbitant storm claims, fraudulent claims and lawsuits because they didn't read their policies carefully to find what is covered and what is not. So to protect new clients from a longer claim process and to unsure that when the time comes their claim can be covered and paid to the fullest and so that the companies dont face a similar fianancial hardship, a lot of insurance companies have pulled out of those areas temporarily till all the claims are paid out and the lawsuits are settled. For time being you will probably have find a broker to get homeowner insurance

Re: Home Insurance

I find it hard to feel bad for any Insurance company. They had no problem sucking money every year from all the FLA and LA home owners when things were ok. Some of the seniors there had the same insurance company for over 40 years and never had claim. I am a pro business but do not ask for my compassion when home owners expect to be honestly dealt with. There is probably no other industry who hides so much behind the small print, water damage verses storm surge is the perfect example. It is bullchit because I know that even my company, and I have had the same insurance company (USAA) for 20 years now, they treat me like they are doing me a favor taking my money. I never had a home owners claim but when I came back from Iraq to my house I found a pipe had broken and flooded my garage, no home damage, the cost of the water and a small roof leak that stained my interior wall. They fought the claim saying the house was uninhabited so i had to prove I had people checking on the house weekly, then they jacked my rates up. When should any one feel compassion for them, besides in almost every study I have seen Insurance salesman rate near car salemen on liars and un-informed on what they are selling.

Fair would be having a rate set and you pay it up. When it is paid up the insurance invest that money. When you have an accident or claim, you have to pay your rate back up.

I know there is allot of fraud going on, so I recommend the insurance company stop trying to look like the victims, no one feels compassion to big companies who take a big chunk of change from them for their house and car, and invest in good investigators..

End of my rant....
