This big snow in the Northeast should make some great H3 snow pictures! If you're up there, post 'em. Wx Channel says some areas of NY are up to 14 inches.

HAHA!!! With the snow on the roof it looks like one of those crappy Jeep Commanders.

Good Pic! We're getting our first ice/snow/slush mix of the season here, and I see what everyone has been talking about with the wipers slushing up and then not contacting the windshield, even with the defroster blowing away. These aftermarket Bosh are not all that great. Has anyone tried double or triple bladed wipers?

The 2 machines.
The tractor could use a little more Hp (11Hp) That seems the case always even with the 442 Just took a spin around messed with 4 low + locker(I didnt need to though It was excellent in 4 high and stopping was better than I expected. |
First post here
14 inches of snow in PA, but no problem in my H3 ![]() |

thanks! i look forward to posting some more pics, and reading about everyones Hummers!

Awesome and I see you even have the base tires and got through 14 inches! For all those tree huggers, I just heard on the Wx Channel Putnam & Dutchess Counties in NY are "requesting 4X4s, particularly Hummers and Jeeps, to get emergency personnel and nurses to work."
|
Had mine out today. We had around 21", I did alot of sliding around...But will chalk it up to "Operator Error" this time. I was hoping for a little more traction though. I didn't use the 4 low, just 4 high. Braking was the same. Did this in the driveway to test it and I slid, so maybe it needs more testing...Hummm odd.

here is my H3 at harrisburg. The people were nuts the night before grabbing all the bread from the stores the night before. I went out and started the H3 cleaned the snow off, drove about 10 feet and my STAB faulted off...... it faulted off three time this week end but each time I turned it off and started it again and it was fine. They ended up with 6 inches that they had off the street by noon

sweet pix everyone and welcome h3mustang

Taken before cleaning the H3 off for the third time yesterday. I think we got 16-18 inches total.

I would be a little embarassed to show the picture if I took one. I got stuck making a u-turn on a city street. It was a great feeling as my neighbor and his wife broke out their kitty litter and shovels. I was far from happy and so not impressed with the H3 in the snow. I'm glad that my wife got the off road package and those nice 33" tires. I'm so mad!!!

You are trolling. So, which is it? |

If you are serious about that, make sure its in 4 hi lock and don't go plowing into snow banks. |
Dont have any from the outside, but here is a shot of what it was like to drive in it.
Notice the frozen wipers. ![]() |

Thanks for the cute little D bag picture. Get real Bro. As for my situation, I made a U-Turn on an unplowed street. I was on an incline and there must have been a sheet of ice underneath the snow. As a point there was over two feet (snow)on the street. I went Hig first then low (4 wheel) and I just kept slipping. My next move was to let the air out and deflate the tires but that would have been a pain in the but.
As for operator error, there was none. This is not my first truck and I have been driving off road for the past 20 years. Stuff happens to everyone but I was not expecting this from the H3. It may have been a fluke, I don't know but I sure was not pleased with the situation. It really shows people how petty you are by posting your little HA HA joke. Maybe next time you should think twicw before rushing to judgement. Thanks for sharing your hgh school graduation picture with the board. |
I did, and thanks for the help

Damn, I want some snow to play in... I am in central Texas and the most we ever get is about 1 inch every few years. I am orig from the midwest and am used to the snow and miss it only for events like taking the HUMMER out.
I guess I can laugh at all because it was in the 70's today and I was wearing shorts.. ha ha Have fun you snow bunnies. |
Obviously it's possible to get stuck in snow or mud in anything, even in an H1 or a tank. I'm honest enough to say I had mud up to the axles once on the H3 and had to get help. Overall, I've been exceptionally pleased with the H3 and my few times in snow, I've really liked it. There are two schools of thought on tire pressure in snow - one says the higher the PSI the heavier the traction footprint, lower obviously gives you more surface area and better tread cleaning ( I like low, but not all agree). Mud and sand there is no discussion (go low), but if you want to have fun start this discussion with someone on snow patrol at a ski area in wheeled 4 x 4 or ask the Sno Cat operator what he drives to work and the psi. 4 Wheel Drive Magazine had a good article and tested tires on the same vehicle at different pressures in deep and shallow snow about 10 years ago - the traction differences were minimal and the conclusion was pressure didn't have as much an affect in snow as it does in mud, sand, or loose gravel.

I asked if it were one of three possible situations behind the post. You answered my question by letting us all know that it was # 2, more to the story. It does suck that you got stuck but it can happen and does to every type of vehicle. It obviously makes more sense when you give the whole story about 2' of snow with a sheet of ice under it on an incline. ![]() |
Well here's my snowy H3 in salt lake! 2/15/06.
not quite as much snow as the east but, we will get 2-8" in the valley's out of this storm! |
Damn it...I would love to see some snow
