I bought one of those security lights off Ebay that you add for more securtiy visibility.
Anyone know what circuit I tie into to for it to work like the stock security light. |

If you're talking about the flashing light on the radio, you're out of luck since it's controlled by the class-2/radio circuitry. Wire in your light through a relay that is normally closed(provides current flow) until signal voltage is applied(ignition on). Whenever the truck is running, no light. Turn the truck off, light comes on.

Damn, couldn't GM at least leave a wittle blinking light out of the Class 2 data system. I mean, hell, they could have just put it on a wire with a blinker and be done with it, but Nooooooo

Do double check what voltage your new light is though, many LED's run at much lower voltages than 12v. The viper one I have comes with it's own little control box that you just out 12v to when the alarm is armed. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>I got the same one you do |

So, did you get it done, or are you still on break? ![]() Third, lastly and the most important, I have to find the damn thing in my shop. I do now have some cool LED underbody lights I need to wire up also, though. I also have my switch panel I need to fab up a place to mount, finish the install of the shock controller and a host of other little things I need to do with the pile of crap on my shop table. How long is it before the deal in Fredericksburg? ![]() |

Ok, I'll take part of the blame on this one but dammit, I still didn't get the right relays. I asked dude if they were single pole, double throws, he looked at me funny, and then asked if they had an 87a post. He said yes and said look there are 5 posts. Ok, there are indeed five.
Damn double pole, single throw pieces of crap. Had me wiring and rewiring and throwing **** at the truck only to look on the back of the box of one of the others to see two 87 poles. So, I said screw it and ordered these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/30-40-AMP-BOSCH-TYPE-REL...8043175579QQtcZphoto If I need one 10 must be better. along with some other things from there to make my remote unlock for my secure storage in the back work. At least the wiring is done. All I have to do now is redo all of the wiring since the new relays will have their own connectors with pigtails. ![]() |
