Still in progress...

Plans are to dump the tubes for Amp power steps, black out door handles and the grill/mirror caps, add black gas cap door.

JAX wheels w Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radials (LT325/50R20)

Tomp, would you tell what's the backspacing of that JAX 20" wheel and can you measure how much that tire does stick out?

Thanks!

tomp 12-28-2005 08:23 PM

Damn W1N, you guessed it right on the money.

Jax wheels suck, as I found out the hard way. The bead around the outer part of the rim is deformed and lots of blemishes/pits on the wheels. I guess you get what you pay for on these wheels because they were cheap. I plan on mudding with lots of rocks in the mud, so I dodn't want to destroy some high dollar wheels.

Tires stick out pretty far at about 2" outside stock flares.

Backspacing 4.5 and offset is -25. There is some slight rubbing, but only because they are so wide that they rub when wheel is turned all the way to one side. Other than that, they rub the same as my stock ones did when off roading.

I really likes Boss Hoss' setup and took his advice on wheel/tire selection.

tomp 12-28-2005 08:27 PM

BTW, gas mileage is noticably worse and not sure how bad it is just yet. I can feel loss in acceleration. Not sure if it's weight of wheel/tire combo or friction from tires or all of the above.

Tires are very quiet for mudders. Only noise is when slowing down at stops. Little vibration when starting off, due to knobbies on tires.

tomp 12-28-2005 10:37 PM

Sewell is bad.
DO NOW OR BANNED!!!

DennisAJC 12-28-2005 11:13 PM

Set up looks cool. I especially like the rim/tire configuration. They'd look mighty nice color matched to the body color.

Yeah... too bad he's ghey.

Dennis said rim.

rocketw19 12-29-2005 05:16 AM

looks nice the way it is but if your gonna black out everything id like to see the rims in that black crome. also what kind of light bar is that looks clean and simple.

looks like a delta 10x lightvar

Dan 12-29-2005 12:15 PM

Looks pretty good! What's the wheel width?

Boss Hoss 12-29-2005 01:56 PM

Looks sweet....im thinking that is a 13.50 width and a 10in rim(partially because thats my setup ). I think the wide wheel/tire combo sets it off.

tomp 12-29-2005 02:55 PM

20x10" wheels with 13.5" wide tires

They look good but I'd get rid of the license plate holder blocking the spare. You pay that much for a nice spare, got to show it! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

SMA makes a replacement chrome license plate holder that is smaller to show more of the wheel.

I am not too keen on the SMA symbol being on there. I am also not buying anything else from them since they told me they had to get CEO approval to RMA a bad product back. Been waiting 6 weeks for the RMA and still no reponse back about it yet.

MONSTERMATT 12-30-2005 02:21 AM

Yep. It would be better plain chrome without the symbol in my opinion. Anyone know of any similar out there?
