I am looking to purchase a winch for my H2. What are my choices? I only can find Warn with there 2 setups. Is there any others? How do you guys like the Warn setups?

dochummer 04-18-2006 12:48 AM

Drty winch all the way.

OR, your best bet
The drty winch bumper

I agree....but don't you have to do horrible things to aquire one of those?

A good second choice is the the removable warn. Hurts appraoch angle but it's easy enough to remove. Being able to winch from the rear is a huge advantage.

Horrible? Define Horrible.. A little Ass Kissing perhaps but Hurrible... ?

I cant find any info on the DRTY winch. Do you guys have a website for them?

dochummer 04-18-2006 02:17 AM

Just PM the big man.

Where can I find a Warm wench that I can bump?

Arizona Hummerboy 04-18-2006 03:03 AM

I am runing the Warn 9.5 TI Multi-Mount on my H2. I like it because I can move the Winch from the front to the back.

And when the winch is not in use, I just store it in my truck were the third seat goes.

As for the Warn, I think it is a very good winch, and I have not had any problems with it.

It's hard to get a straight answer about such things.

PM (private message) DRTYFN - he has more info.

As of this Friday I am going to debut a front bumper and grill guard at Moab. While DRTY's bumper is nice you may want to wait just so you can compare.

It's actually not my rig. It's CP's.

Can you give us a sneak preview...seeing as how we're not going to be in moab...

H2Oguy 04-18-2006 03:45 AM

I would have but I forgot to take some pics before I broke it down to take to the powder coaters tomorrow. I just finished it 20 minutes ago.

Ruh rohhhh.... hope there's no similarities on the mounting design.

H2Oguy 04-18-2006 03:49 AM

No worries there isn't
By the way I got a good look at how you did that and I was very impressed but mine is completely different.

Oh I also graciously modified My front skid plate to go around your bumper on Alec's H2 instead of the other way around.

Aren't you supposed to be in moab drty?

Mounting winch inside. Used the bolt holes that mounted the spare tire. Clean install!

DRTYFN's winch bumper is definitely the way to go. I'm just not very patient and since I'm not a serious off roader like alot of the members, this will have to do. Warn's version.

Where is DRTYFN located?

Now this question should become a sticky. We could have a contest with it...
