Do a lot of veterans discharged since 1975 own H2s, or was the computer stolen from an H2, or was the getaway vehicle an H2?

I ask since this was posted in the General H2 discussion forum

Being an AF veteran of 24 and counting years it sucks when you read about a theft of info on a scale of that magnitude. I don't want my SSN being reused for a fake birthcertificate, passport, drivers license, creditcard - you get the idea... no one wants a repeat EVER of 9-11 and armed with that personal data a thousand people from a third world piss hole could do some damage... I love my life, my freedom, my family and this country which provides me the opportunity to pursue my dreams.
I apologize for the soap box speach; I'm just a F-16 avionics mechanic who's seen a lot of the world and the corruption which runs it... Vet or patriot - protect your ID as best as you can!

This is nothing new. A huge number of SSN were stolen from Randolph AFB not to long ago - active duty. SO you spend your year in Iraq only to come home and find your credit ruined. People are lovely, huh?

SURE!

Your intellectual poverty is noted, and mocked.

I'm guessing you have problems with connecting the dots. Just go read what's posted at that link and notice exactly how it pertains to the H2. Hell, it evens mentions it a few times.

Surely you could have found one better than that as your weak ass attempt at rebuttal. When you've earned your stripes here and contribute something positive, maybe..... just maybe, you'll occasionally get a pass on being stupid.

Yes. The only identity theft that really harms society and should be criminally prosecuted is the theft of veterans' identities.

The story goes lost her son and nine of his buddies in march in Iraq so she had the truck painted to honor them. Are VETS special?

I'm retired Air Force...

That is one beautiful truck. unfortunetely it's the moms, dads, wives, and kids who pay in the long run for those who have given their lives or are disabled in service of this country.

If you can read this and feel you can disagree.... Thank a vet!!!

Someday someone will propose making identity theft of any kind a capital crime punishable by DEATH. But I'd be happy with just cutting off one of their hands or tattooing "I.D. THIEF" on their foreheads... their choice.

Hey einstein, what do they have to do with veterans. Those are fallen warriors that did not get a chance to become veterans.

Besides, it's a repost of a repost that was reposted. Here's the original post:

New Definition Of "Veteran"Opens Door For All Who Served
JULY 2004 - All men and women, who have served in the armed forces of the United States for at least 180 days, will now be classified as veterans, regardless of when they served. (Senate Chairman of the Committee on Human Services and Elderly Affairs).

But my policy is not to take on vets. ;)

Please tell me you are not trying to be an idiot. To be a veteran of the US Armed Forces, you would have to have been discharged from service. KIAs are not veterans.

No one else really cares what anything is to YOU. You are an idiot though. Combat has nothing to do with whether or not one is a veteran. There are many veterans that never saw a single day of combat but deserve just as much recognition as those that do. They still signed up to put their life on the line and serve their country.

So, they are not veterans once they reach the threshold as defined by the GAO, even if they are not in combat, according to you?

That's what you are alluding to when you said "They are still vets to me once they have one day in combat" Since it mutually excludes non-combat service personnel.

Since when does GAO make definitions. I never talked benefits or pay. There are a number of programs depending upon status and still dont change the fact if they were in a combat zone one day its Combat Patch and vet status. Benefits is another issue even for Vietnam, Desert storm, etc. Benefits are all different so dont try the GAO crap been there.
