35in. tires

For those of you with 35s, honestly what kinda power loss will I be looking at? 35s look great, but I drive alot on and off freeways everyday. Should I go with a more aggressive 33 than stock or jump to the 35s? The truck has enough power for daily driving now, just don't want any less;)

10K now on the 35's, yes, your off the line will suffer a bit, and your mileage will too.

It's so worth it:D:D:D:D:D

Re: 35in. tires

For street use, consider gearing changes to go with the 35's. If you think the acceleration is just adequate now, then you will be disappointed. But they do look cool.

Somebody probably has already calculated the gearing impact of going from 32's to 35's and it is significant.

The 35's are a MUST HAVE!!!

Yeah, it may be a wee bit slower off the line but its not a drag racer so thats no big deal. 315's make the truck.

OBTW - If you're going to wheel the truck and have mud anywhere in your plans DO NOT get BFG AT KO's! Trust me on this. :(

hey man , since you do drive alot , you may want do do what west did and get a mud terrain in a 33 . you get better traction and wont suffer the above mentioned issues .

I have the same concerns so what I've decided to do is simply purchase an extra set of rims, throw some very aggresive MT's on them and have them just for when I want to wheel.

Re: 35in. tires

If most of your driving is on the freeway. 35s will cost in mileage, torque loss, and considerably poorer handling. I think we'll see over $4/gal for gas by years end, so figure that into your choice. And 35s will aggravate the "floaty" feel at freeway speeds thats already pronounced with 33s.

IMO, there would be too many important compromises for cosmetics. The novelty of the 35s will wear thin when it feels like the suspension is by Sealy Posturpedic and you see the cost at the pump going higher. Bottom line is that hardly anyone but you will notice 35s anyway. Unless you do a lot of offroad, I advise sticking with the 33s.

What about trans shift points? my friend with a gr. cherokee put 35s on his ride and said his trans would not stop downshifting and upshifitng at highway speeds, so annoying he removed them. I also wanna go 35, but dont wanna hear the wife "complain" about odd shifting and road noise.

I was thinking of putting 35s on, but after driving a few months with the 33s, I decided 35s would just cost too much in normal driving feel and economy. So I stayed with the 33s. Every time some moron cuts me off on the freeway, I'm glad I did.

So what about something in between - Is there a tire out there that is around 34 inches? Like a 305 / 75 / 16 or somthing?

35's let you climb high and lean heavy. Great off road. Of course it's like driving pulling an open parachute on the highway. Had 33's and wouldn't go back. I just drive and enjoy the view.........

Hi all. It's my first post, but have been lurking for a while.

nE wayz... 35's ARE CRAP! You guys are turning your nice trucks into back woods junk yard garbage dumpsters.

It's just for looks and besides, don't get me started on acceleration, gas milage and diffs.

Take it from me, stock is all you need. Spend your money on a nice rack or some other accesories if you want to personalize:cool:

First of all, you can't be "Bully". We all ready have a distinguished forum member named Bully13.

If you don't change your handle, we'll run you out of here.

Second of all, STFU. 35's give us more ground clearance, wider footprint, for crawling over slickrock and large boulders.

There are pros and cons to any set up.

Like that.
