hummer hate

I just got my first case of hummer hate taken to the physical level. While I was in the grocery store someone tried to rip off my license plate. Luckily sheet metal was stronger than the little **** who decided to take out of lack of knowledge on my poor little innocent H3. :D

Re: hummer hate

I still get people looking into my H3 ..sometimes I'm sitting in there and they don't realize it at first. Anyways, I'm always afraid they're going to try to key me while their eyes are peering inside.

Did you have vanity plates??

Did you bop the SOB on the back of the head with your fist? Or better yet, if he is bending over, a swift kick to the right location will assure the tree-hugger will have no little saplings.:D He is committing a crime, so you can stop him.
I sure would have, and then called the police. Police look at stealing plates as a pretty serious misdemeanor, since stolen plates are used on stolen vehicles.

Re: hummer hate

no vanity plates just random letter and numbers. No I didn"t catch them in the act, but trust me if I would have there would have been, what we in the hockey world call, a scuffle.:D

I am astounded at how people can get so uptight over what you drive, I just don't get it.

I'm with you, XM. Sunday afternoon, an old lady in a Prius flipped off my wife and railed at her about her gas-guzzling Hummer. This open nastiness to strangers is something new and very unhealthy. It just shows why zealots are bad, regardless of philosophy.

That's sooooo stupid and inmature to flick off a hummer, or to try and steal something from it. I haven't had to pleasure of being flicked off or cut off, but i guess I have something to look forward to.

Re: hummer hate

I am sorry to hear that you had to deal with retards. My H2 was keyed last month and it is going into the bodyshop next week to have the doors, rear hatch, and hood repainted.

I have had to deal with people flipping me off since I bought it. Usually it is some little old lady who has trouble staying on the road at the best of times. I usually roll down the window and wave at them. While it happens occasionally, I have gotten more waves and thumbs-up from people than anything negative.

We need to take the good with the bad and realize that at the end of the day, we are driving the vehicle we love.

So you could just have you're H3 painted in desert camo or camo of you're choice than it woulden't matter, just a little touch up and no problem.

I can't believe that these people think that everything is perfect in their own lives, and they can take this out on others. I seriously doubt that that person is completely free from the any use of oil. For the rare chance that I would see the act hapening, there would be hell to pay, probably the .45 type.

It's amazing what motivates people. How about they get some motivation to do something worthwhile.

I lost two, and I know how you feel (mine weren't hummer haters, just a**holes doing the neighborhood).
Did you check the local merchants to see if there were any video cameras going?

I was thinking of using a piano hinge on the rear plate so it can bend back without damage.
My brother getting me 1 inch piano hinge in stainless.
I think I also have to put a magnet, velcro or interlock so it doesnt flap in the wind.

I will post results in tech section when I install it.:D

Call me paranoid, but whenever I park any nice car, I will double back just to make sure there is no suspicious activity. I figure most people with bad intent will strike just after you leave, anticipating that you will be gone at least a few minutes. If there are too many low lifes around, I'll just leave, and come back later. I started doing this after someone stole the emblems off my '78 Firebird Trans Am while I was in the gym. Probably evildave. :D

Yea once I found lipstick marks on the windshield of a Mustang GT convertible that I used to own. Better than vandalism.
