HummBeBe, your the best!
Here I am sitting with my wife in a hotel room waiting to hear the verdict on my truck from the local dealer here in Reno, NV. My wife has a very bad back and has a pain implant in her back. It is a rechargeable unit but we left the recharger in HummBeBe's garage.
As most know, we are in the fifth week of our cross country trip. As a result, we had a lot of excess baggage:o HummBebe let us keep it in her garage while we were on the Rubicon. Unfortunately, the charger was left behind when I picked it all up. Did not discover this until we arrived yesterday in Sparks, NV. Originally, she would meet us in Truckee, CA, about the half way point. Could I ask for anything better. Then the dealer calls. The Fabtech tie rod is worn out! WTF! Being replaced with a stock tie rod. Seems the truck is in 4Wheel Hi Locked. Appears to be electrical but ran out of time, will troubleshoot tomorrow. Tomorrow! How do I tell BeBe that I can't even meet half way. I call her and tell her What's happening, without hesitation she says "So I'll just drive to you." As if I was around the corner and down the block. It's TWO HOURS AWAY! Each way! She showed up at the hotel, we went to dinner and had a nice discussion. She drove us back to the hotel and if I had asked, I am sure she would have walked us in. Lift one for HummBebe. :beerchug: And a great driver. |

Re: HummBeBe, your the best!
Is this what they call a "feel good thread"?:jump:
Pops, how's she feeling now? Hope all is well. If you're stuck in 4 hilock, there may be something else wrong causing it to not switch out. Ours wouldn't go out of lowlock because a sensor elsewhere went out causeing the truck to go into safe mode. |

Ken, our idler-arm bracket is misaligned and led to the condition Phil remarked on above. Wheeling with it just chews the TR's up. |

Thanks for the answer Phil. Is that the kind of thing the Cognito support thingy I bought from some Anglo-Texan will help to prevent? |

I would have to "see" what they were talking about when they said it's worn out. I have some wear issues with a ball joint in just one ball joint in mine and it's not enough that I could tell it was coming from the tie-rod without some some analysis. I'm curious to know if it is the inner or outer ball joint and if they've been properly lubed. I've been paying my dealer to lube my truck and some of my stuff doesn't appear to have been lubed in 2 years. |

First I have to make sure my dealership will still warranty any parts if I do this. |
Re: HummBeBe, your the best!
I would like to do a story on this Hummbebe person. Where might I find her contact information.

Re: HummBeBe, your the best!
This HummBebe sounds made up. Like an urban legend. Does she sport a cape?:jump:

Rox: Yes, I installed the Cognito supports about two months or so after I bought the vehicle. It seemed to firm thing up at the time, but, now, I'm probably too used to the Cogno version to remember like the stock one was like. I can't imagine it would void the warranty - it merely reduces excess movement and thus premature wear. |
