Re: V8
You know, maybe that V8 isn't really such a distant possibility:

Re: V8
The 5.3 v8 sounds interesting. Coming off the 3.5 and 3.7 I5 the Buick v6 4.3 would have been a nice choice.

Re: V8
That cracks me up... V8 ..2008..I'm going on week 13 waiting for my 2007 H3. They can't even ship it because there still waiting on Amber Roof Marker Lamps......:violin:
How Long do you think it will be before they can ship a V8..:giggling::giggling: :giggling: :D |
Re: V8
I hope those roof lights don't make wind noise and leak rain water...

Did you tell them to cancel the marker lights and put them on later. Seems like you been waiting long enough. |

Maybe lame but worth it imo. Ask them to eat the $200 for your time and trouble. You need your truck dude, winter's coming! |

Yeah . I hear yah... I'm working on compensation in the form of H3 dealer items such as ..Trail seat covers.. Rubber Cargo mays etc. Allready have 5 Promo Model H3 scale trucks put aside for Xmas time. The GMID I have Runs out 12/7/07 (Issue date 7/10/07... I hope they'll still honer it as the H3 was order 8/1/07. Will it still be good F5....??:violin: |
Re: V8
I have a 2006 Avalanche with the 5.3 E85 engine at 295HP. I would love to have that engine in my H3 also.

Been thu this in another post.. Don't want to bore the regulars here or be a weenie and whine... Yep thay offered to cancel the lamps and order them later when available...Of course the dealer wants $200.00 to install them plus the cost of the lamps. :lame: |
Re: V8
V8 is coming in late 07 or early 08 via a GM source (no I didnt just pull this out of my behind) though it may not be the 320hp version of the 5.3. The turbo 5 plan was droped for the past year now.
|
Re: V8
You'll see this as an 2008 model from the start, If everything goes according to plan. The turbo 5 was shelved before the H3 came to market.
|
Re: V8
I wonder what they would charge for trade in on the engine alone for the V8 swap?

If you have 2 RIGHT GONADS, is the retail price on one of them the same as an average persons single right gonad? Or would it cost one with 2 right gonads, both of them to get the same V8 swap? |

You may be correct... BUT Remember the older you get the larger they get so an older guys may be worth more... POPS |

Let me guess, automatic tranny only, right? I would be curious about other changes to the drive line to compensate for the power as well, anything else you can offer up? Honestly still hoping GM sees the value in a nice turbo diesel with manual tranny, but I don't hold out too much hope. Any word on when those window switche moves and child safety locks will hit the showrooms? My dealer still claims there is nothing in the pipeline for them, after talking to "Hummer Corporate" (what ever the hell that is). |
Re: V8
I hope that we see the 6-speed gearbox, with an extremely low geared 1st.

Maybe they might put in a different front axle, probably stay with the same trans and t/case, probably never see a man trans with anything but a 5-cylinder. |
Re: V8
I WANT the Vette SS in the Auto Week article. God, I'm already having Vette withdrawal symptoms:crying:

How man wives do you have? An H-2 for one and a trailblazer for the other... RYD |
Re: V8
Guess I should have made "GONE" a bit bigger. The Vette & the Trailblazer were traded for the H2, which was immediately claimed by the one and, last time I looked, only wife.:dancingbanana:

Right now we are suppost to start building these about the end of January. |
Re: V8
Am I reading this right? There is a V8 coming out for the H3 in January for Model year 07'. I would have figured if there was going tp be one it would be for 08'. If this is true I will need to sell my H3 and be ready for the V8. In my mond this is too good to be true.

Re: V8
i dont know that id want a v8. id be happy with the I-6 considering weight and gas mileage and all. If they can sqeeze about 300hp out of the 6 banger then that seems like more than enough. But thats just me. Plus all the talk about serious mods to make a V8 fit seems more likely for a 6. But i dont know anything so anything whatever comes out(or doesnt) is fine with me.

Re: V8
The Pathfinder with a 4.0L 270 hp V6 weighing just as much as the H3 can get 16/23 mpg and is pretty quick(0-60 in 7-8secs). Only problem is it's not an H3. I would think the H3 could get close with a new powerplant. Obviously not match it because of aerodynamics, but at least come close.
So a 6 or a V8? Which would actually be better to keep the MPG close to the same while improving acceleration and passing power? |

I believe H3Builder was talking about new location for window switches. |

Wonder what it would take to move the switches into the new position on the older models where they're so far back? |
