My wolf cover has been destroyed with red dust from Moab, and mudding around MI. I can't get it clean anymore. I recommend a hard cover such as 442 or Green Lantern has. Those soft covers seem to absorb dirt. |

What's a good source for Hard covers..... And on an unrelated note... The dealer is gonna install the "XM" Radio module for the DVD NAV Unit if he has it in stock to day. Is that a big deal..?? |
Re: Show Me Your Ass End....

Talking stock DVD? If all wiring is present, including XM antenna wire from external XM antenna, wiring connectors for the new XM box (might be just hanging there), not a hard job. Remove DVD and remove glove box to install XM box and do all connections. If wiring is not present, he may have to install a new antenna (doubt it), and splice into some wires for power/ground/serial data, etc. However, I would be all the wiring is there, but can't be sure. After install, a simple setup with the Tech 2 is probably required to allow the BCM to recognize the new component on the serial data link. |

http://www.emediawire.com/releases/2.../emw491554.htm Boomerang Enterprises teams up with General Motors to offer their full line of distinctive soft spare tire covers and hybrid rigid face tire covers to North American Hummer dealers. ![]() Boulder, CO (PRWeb) December 14, 2006 -- In 2006, as a result of overwhelming market response to their products, Boomerang Enterprises (www.boomco.com) teamed up with General Motors to offer their full line of distinctive soft spare tire covers and hybrid rigid face tire covers to North American Hummer dealers. soft and hybrid spare tire covers. Therefore, they are the only supplier authorized by GM to distribute trademarked product for these types of cover," states Diane Mahoney, General Motors Licensing Manager. The licensed products include Boomerang soft vinyl tire covers, including their patented reflective print tire covers, as well as their unique line of hybrid rigid face tire covers for Hummer H2 and H3 vehicles. Since 1995, Boomerang Enterprises, Inc has been an automotive accessories manufacturer specializing in designing, manufacturing and selling custom rear mounted tire covers to both automotive dealerships and manufacturers. Within a few years of entering the market, Boomerang became the leading supplier by innovating new product concepts in a market that had seen little innovation historically. "Other players have consistently attempted to copy our innovations, but generally fall short," states Gene Fischer, VP of Sales and Marketing. Boomerang's rigid face tire covers are truly a hybrid between traditional vinyl tire covers and all plastic covers. Christopher Fischer, President, states, "We developed and perfected this versatile line of tire covers over a number of years and officially launched the product in 2005." The covers are unique in that they are constructed of a durable UV resistant, thermoformed ABS plastic face that is sewn to a heavy duty vinyl side band that stretches around the tire's tread. Customers love the versatility of these covers. A dealer can order the tire cover in standard black textured version or in a color matched painted version. "Both options look great on the back of any Hummer, come with our standard 3 year warranty, and like all of our products, can be customized with dealer logos," according to Jessica Flynn, Creative Director. There is even an option for a stainless steel painted or unpainted ring if the customer requests it. Boomerang's multi-step painting process is top quality. Each tire cover is properly prepped, base coated, and clear coated resulting in a very attractive tire cover. "Boomerang uses only top of the line, premium PPG automotive paint and unlike any of our competition, we have a proprietary screen printing process that permanently seals the printed graphics under the clear coat giving the painted Hummer tire cover a very impressive and durable finish," states Christopher Fischer. Re: Show Me Your Ass End....
Will the sun really hurt the spare taht much without a cover, thinking of tossing the dealer ad one I have?
|
Re: Show Me Your Ass End....
Quote:
I don't think so, it gets the same exposure as the other tires. |
Re: Show Me Your Ass End....
Bad news:
If you use your spare, no it will not hurt. However, a spare that is never used, will be affected by UV and ozone and will eventually start to crack. The flexing of a tire, causes the carbon black and other adatives in the tires to condition the tires as you drive. A tire cover helps to protect the spare from ozone and UV light. Last year, NHTSA and the tire industry, recommended that the auto manufacturers start printing information in owner's manuals in regard to spare tires and they should be replaced after 10 years of non-use. However, this recommendation was for spare tires in the trunk; those subjected to UV and Ozone might degrade faster. Good news: It will take many years, depending on the conditions where you live. |

Re: Show Me Your Ass End....
Follow up from Boomerang Enterprises on their tire covers.
Doug, We can do custom covers. E-mail a copy of the artwork and we will let you know if we can do it and how much it will cost. Also, let us know what city you are in. Gene Fischer Vice President - Sales and Marketing Boomerang Enterprises, Inc. (303) 447-0902, ext. 309 So, Green Lantern, can I get a copy of the artwork for the black sheep via email? I will send it on to him, with an example showing BLACK SHEEP (on top) Hummer Squadron (on the bottom) with the logo in the middle and see what his prices would be. If anyone else is interested, I can get a price for a larger number of covers and it might be less expensive. |
