Re: How much does a GMID save off an H3?
I think GMS is only available to GM employees/families...my father is a retired GM employee so I used an ID I got from him. In fact, all the dealership employees thought it was funny that I told them it was a GMID and turned out to be GMS (I sat there thinking wtf I don't know all the ID levels!)

Re: How much does a GMID save off an H3?
gms is is a gm supplier discount for friends. gmid is for employees and family. the gms discount is much less than the gmid discount. but still hefty. the h3 i picked up earlier this month was with a gms certificate number given to me on edmunds.com by a gm employee who gets several a month and is gracious to offer them. btw, the dealer asks for his/her name and he/her get points with gm for helping gm sell a vehicle. make sure you credit him/her. while i leased my h3, the lease price in part was based on the gms discount, plus the $750 plus $250 off msrp. all in all the selling price was below invoice. dont ask me how much, just do it if you are buying, and or leasing.:dancingbanana:

This is so typical of your dumb ass, post the entire explanation of your lack of understanding, you misunderstood the titles clown. GMS is for employees/ family, and GMID is given to interested buyers by employees. :lame: |
Re: How much does a GMID save off an H3?
most if not all of the gmid certificate numbers one can score on line result in an h3 buyer getting the gm supplier discount -- which i got, not the gmid discount, which stands for 'general motors in your driveway' and goes only to relatives up to grandchildren of actual gm employees. in fact when i got my h3, the dealer initially thought i had the 'family' gmid but when the cert # was punched in to the computer it showed the dealer that i got the supplier discount. again, it's less of a discount than the true gmid, but still great. even the dealers are unsure of which is which -- gms vs gmid -- and what it means until they punch in the number.

You can share authorization numbers with extended family, friends or neighbors who are not currently eligible for your GM Employee Vehicle Purchase Discount. [quote=nychot]you are so gmid is an umbrella for two types of discounts -- family members of gm employees, or friends and/or family (or anyone who scores one online) of gm suppliers. (I can obtain a GMS online in the same time it takes to obtain a GMID, and I can also obtain a GMS for my family members online in the same time.) unless you are related to a gm employee, which has to be PROVEN to the dealer. (It DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PROVEN to a Dealer. I have given a few to family members who have different last names, and the dealers have never asked for proof. The proof lies with an internal audit that GM periodically performs on GMS certificates. Once I had to have my sister-in-law send me a copy of her marriage certificate to prove to a GM auditor my GMS given to her was legitimate. If a dealer is asking for proof, it is at their request; not that of GM. its nolo contendre. but it's no problemo with the supplier discount. don;t listen to the moron who is contradicting me. I'm not sure who is owned? But I do know I'm confused as hell with all your different posts which are confusing GMID/GMS and probably a few more. This information is correct for a GMS discount. In one message you post, "which i got, not the gmid discount, which stands for 'general motors in your driveway' and goes only to relatives up to grandchildren of actual gm employees." However, if you read what is posted in this posting, you will see GMS goes to family members. In another thread you state, "you are so gmid is an umbrella for two types of discounts -- family members of gm employees, or friends and/or family (or anyone who scores one online) of gm suppliers." GMID is NOT an umbrella, it is simply a discount that GM employees can give to their friends, acquaintances or family members who do NOT quality for GMS, such as cousins. Go almost to the bottom, and this is from the GM employee website. http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ight=GMID+NVPP |
