Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon
Wow, what a difference the tires and black wheels make. Your truck looks great. How do you like the Toyos? Do you have any significant rubbing? Thanks

|
Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon
Well Done!
Now that it's primered, what color are you going to paint it?:D |
Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon
That was fast. You may want to leave the wheel covers off. Personally, I think it looks tough without them.
|
Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon
looks sweet. nice going
|
Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon
thanks for all the great responses everyone, i appreciate it.
the only rubbing i have so far is, when the wheels are fully turned and the windows are down and the radio is off, i can hear a slight rubbing on the sway bar, but that shouldn't hurt anything. it is a little worse in reverse, but again not bad. no rubbing on the plastics or in the rear. since the tires went on yesterday i have only been on paved surfaces though. im sure there will be some rubbing off road. who knows. now i do plan on trimming a small piece in the rear wheel wells and flipping the airbag sensor on the rears so i have plenty of room when off roading. and the center caps for the wheels, i really think i like the look with them off. i was going to paint the center caps black and put them on but not anymore. ill paint them and then keep em stored until i change my mind someday. thanks everyone. |
Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon

Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon
So are you going to do it yourself or have the dealer do it. I am very courious to know because I want to get these tires but my draw back was that of the air ride sensors breaking. My dealer told me that you can not move them.

So it looks like this peice was moved from the front to behind? Is that right? If so How do you do it? And do you move just the top part or the bottom as well? |

lol, to be honest, i have to talk to drmiles some more about it. im planning on doing it on friday. im under the impression that drmiles did it himself and that it was pretty easy. he explains it somewhat to me at this link, http://www.kylebennett.com/showthrea...1&page=1&pp=10 its on the third page, that thread also has some pics of his ride with the same tire doing some offroadin. hope this helps you out some. |
Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon
Yes those pics are great. Once you figure out how to do it, please let me know. I think I am going to get the 37 toyos now:excited:

:jump: Bully, you have the 37" BFG M/T's right? How's the gas mileage and highway ride with the larger tire diameter? I'm looking at either the 35's or the 37's in the Toyo.... - been looking for a while :) |

I'll try to explain. Been two years since I dun it. First the connector rod is attached to the lever arm on the sensor. On the outside it is rubber, on the insice is a hard plastic pin that travels through the center or the rubber piece. Mine broke the hard pin. I then drilled out the rest of the pin making a small 1/16th hole in the rubber piece. Then took a number 6 sheet metal screw, placed the connector rod with the hole in the rubber, on the inside of the sensor lever arm. Then secured it with the #6 sheet metal screw from the outside through the lever arm into the connector rubber end.
![]() Hope that helps. It is easy once you get the arm apart Also not sure but you should be able to pry the pin out with a flat head screw driver. Don't worry if you break it. ![]() |

Hey look, I figured out how to use paint
:jump: Air bag Sensor = Ride height sensor |
Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon
FYI, I broke the driver side twice, then broke both in one ditch before I figured out a fix.
Good Luck :dancingbanana: |

No I still have my stock tires, I am in the same boat as you trying to figure out what I should get. the BFG's or the Toyos. I know Oldhiker has the 37 BFG's. |

Thanks I think now I will get the Toyos instead of the BFG's :) |
Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon
one thing to think about is, the bfg's are 12.5 wide and the toyos are 13.5 wide. if you want the look of a little more tire under you go with the toyos, if you want a little less rubbing, go with the bfg's. my deciding factor was i wanted a little wider tire for the looks. also, if you shop around at different discount tire stores and ntb stores, you can get them to price match www.tiredeals4less.com prices, which are dirt cheap. you just need to go back and forth and they will continue to beat each others prices. i got my five installed, mounted, and balanced for 1500 out the door. hope that helps you guys out. and make sure to post up some pics when you get them installed!

Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon

Re: before and after, or this morning and afternoon
