RAWLINGS EDITION H-3

Has anyone seen the RAWLING EDITION H-3 ?

Dropped off the Yellow Duck this morning for a REDO (engine light came on AGAIN, OnStar says its a Fuel Management Problem. hope they fix it this time...)

ANYWAY

They had an 07 Dark Blue H-3 (unlocked, next to the NEW showroom) Base model with an auto tranny but I noticed on the front side fender a chrome insignia in script saying

RAWLING EDITION

The additional sticker said $3295 for the Custom Leather Seats, front & back as well as UGLY PHONEY Wood Grain Plastic on part of the dash as well as the surround for the window controls.

They even had the BALLS to have printed on there :

ADDITIONAL DEALER PROFIT of $595

NOW the seats were REAL NICE, like glove leather (the color of an aged baseball glove) I think there were the nicest leather seats i have seen in ANY car/truck/suv...

The wood grain was CRAP...

Dark Blue exterier and Brown Seats, well not the greatest color combo, (have to ask GAY GOOEY about that combo)

Something else I found unusual, it wasn't a LUX PKG, nor a ADV PKG, no sunroof, Stock wheels etc etc, just a BASE Model with auto...

That is my guess. Wonder what year it was, I am guessing an 06. They are just trying to move old inventory.

RYD, what makes you think the dash is plastic and not real wood veneer? The pic on the website shows a nice light ash wood finish which I'm sure is supposed to mimic the look of a baseball bat....

Awwww! No pics of the hideous "wood grain" dash???? I was dying to see that. :giggling:

Now...about these leather seats - you thought they were nice, as in soft, supple, high quality leather....and/or they looked good in the car?? From the photos, that color leather looked pretty crappy up against the black and tan of the rest of the interior. Black leather would've looked better IMHO.

Great pics though!

You can see a couple of the pieces in the leather pics on the door switch panels...and yea, you'd think they would have started with a dark interior truck so it'd have the black door panels and door inserts...but yea, I like the look of the leather. not sure how i feel about the big red badge, though.

Ahhhh....NOW I see crappy wood grain. I agree with RYD - Looks like shiznit!!! It's not a great picture of it, but from a distance it looks pretty cheesy.

I'm still not crazy about the over all color scheme. Blue truck, brown leather seats, and black and tan for everything else. Too busy for me. If they had gone with black leather, even the red Rawlings badge would look better.

Had to dump the pic of the dash, camera didn't cooperate...

No, I said leather was great, forgot to mention label (ugg), color combo was ugly, very anti complimentry...

Its funny they put it in a base model, only extra was auto tranny, $3300 seams like a lot for JUST NICE LEATHER...
