I didn't see a section for this topic anywhere else, and since this is the "General H3 Discussion" forum, I figured why not!

How many of us Elcova members are there in the Kansas City area? I am thinking it would be cool to get together, swap stories and knowledge, and most importantly, wheel together.

Ok, just call me Homer Simpson! I just read, yes that's a new thing, the instructions on searching the Member's List and found a whopping 112 people in the MO area on this site! I wish I could narrow that to just KC.

Anyway, if anyone from the KC area wants to pipe in on my ideas, go ahead!

Cool! I too want to break in my H3 the right way. I think BST1YT is also interested and was thinking about Labor Day weekend down at Kansas Rocks.

By the way, Mr. Snappy, weren't you in some type of "argument" with f5stop awhile back? :D

If we were to make a trip to KSrocks I have Sunday Sept 9th wide open and I might be able to do it that saturday (the 8th). I think it might be a nice idea to see if we can get some guys from the area to meet up maybe for some drinks or something soon as a way for everyone to get to know each other. Let me know what works for you.

Looks like there are several of us that are planning on wheelin at KS Rocks Labor Day weekend. The ******* MidCentral Club is hosting an event on Saturday if anyone would like to attend (you don't have to be a member). I would give you a link to the ******* forum, but I got banned for doing that last time. :giggling: :lame: Seems you can't post links to other forums here. But I'll bet if you are savvy with a search engine, you can find it. ;) Here's the keywords:

So, what day is it again? Are we in agreement? Do we want to meet before we head out to KSROCKS or just meet each other there? I could do a pre-meet at a local drinking establishment to get aquainted if that sounds good.
Tanners? Fred P. Ott's? 75th Street Brewery? I'm good with just about anything.

I'd be up for something like that. I think we are planning on September 1st at Kansas Rocks. There has been something posted alluding to that in another Hummer forum. :D

I'm sure there will be more weekends to come. We would love to have you join us. Some of us are planning on making it there for October 20th for the Halloween event. They are having a night trail ride. Very spooky. :clapping:

Regarding a pre-meet... would anyone be interested in meeting up for a happy hour at some establishment this Thursday evening? That way we can all get acquainted and set up a meeting spot to convoy down to KSRocks. I know that phillip (KSTreker) knows where he is going so I vote him to lead the pack down there

Dude, that's weak. We're just trying to hook up with some local Hummer owners to wheel with and you start with the "H2 vs H3" crap. It's bad enough that Jeep owners rag on us without owners of our own brand giving us grief. If you are a local KC Hummer owner, then lose the attitude and come wheel with us. In fact, we already have both H1 and H2 owners that are coming on Labor Day. As far as being a city slicker, that's pretty weak too.:violin:

I am up for Thursday night as well.
My H3 was scheduled to go in to the shop for a week (Paint work due to factory paint flaws) on Monday and I they told me they would need it for 4 days. I have no faith they would actually be done by Friday PM, so I will move that appointment out another week if we have a confirmed group going to KSROCKS on Saturday, Sept 1.

Also, let's see where people are in KC. I live in Olathe and I know some of our MO friends get cranky if the JoCo people always try to organize stuff down south all the time. I am flexible, so if we have people scattered all over the place, I would recommend the Tanners at 95th and Holmes (I think it's actually Bannister and Holmes)

If we have most people down South, let's do the Fred P. Otts on College Blvd just East of Metcalf.

I will go anywhere there is cold beer :clapping:

I am in south OP so I vote for Fred P Otts on College. I believe there are a number of guys in Olathe, so if we need to meet somewhere out there that is fine too.

If anyone is interested there is a Hummer Happening at the kansas rocks on Oct. 27th. It's put on by us at Hummer of KC. Just sign up with us if you want to go, usually a pretty good time (even though I'm working it).

You bet I would! :excited: I bought my Hummer at another dealership, but I would definitely like to support the local dealership. Is there any way I can get my name on a list to be informed about future Hummer Happenings? I get my service done at Hummer of KC, so maybe I'm already on the list. Where do I sign up? At the dealership? Online?

I don't think they sent anything out yet. I just saw this thread and asked my service writer what the date was and he said the 27th of oct. About the warranty thing, obviously if something breaks we usually cover it. If you do something like mess up a wheel or a body part, that's not really GM's fault. Anyone who has been to a Hummer Happening will tell you that you really get to use the Hummer's capabilies, but it is done in a very controled enviroment and you don't have to go on the extreme stuff. Unless you really want to that is. I think most people just come to the dealership and sign up or call. I'm not sure if there has been an official announcement yet, but I was just throwing the idea out there for people who don't know that we do this sort of thing.

Of course I'd be interested, just like the rest of the crew here! I did not purchase my vehicle from Hummer of KC but I'm sure I will eventually have service done there (heated seat issue comes to mind!). How do I place my name on the list?
