Alpha Snow pix :)
4 Attachment(s)
Here are some pics of my 2006 H1 Alpha wagon. Nothing extra,,,,yet.
Needs some better underbody protection and some rock rails to start. Anyone have suggestions? Opinions on runflats and wheeling-please. Attachment 45569 Attachment 45570 Attachment 45571 Attachment 45572 |

Sweet pics rocks, thats a hell of a nice looking truck. As far as the UCP and Rock rails go..... You gotta call Travis @ www.Rubberduck4x4.com He's got the stuff you need. Runflats. Personally, I hate the damn things and would not want them. But, they can get you out of a pinch. Say you got a flat on your way home from wherever, to be able to keep driving is pretty sweet. Would you be able to change a tire by yourself? Now, I'm not trying to doubt your girl power here, but those tires are gonna way around 165 Lbs. |
Re: Alpha Snow pix :)
OMG!!! I'm in love. Don't leave your keys laying around when I'm over.:jump: :jump:

I can change a tire by myself but it doesn't mean I'm very happy about it. I probably couldn't lift it over my head, but I could get it on and off the truck barely. I just wondered if the runflats have any wheeling drawbacks. CTIS is my bestest friend EVER!:jump: |

Very nice. I see you have the second-run all-black interior. Excellent choice

I think you should know m-, that I was in love with the red soft top with the black interior. It was like a sportscar in comparison. I let the kids decide since they get to go on all the trips with me, and they chose the wagon. Here's a pic of the 55+ mph winds we hit in Wyoming. Kinda glad I had the wagon at this point. |
Re: Alpha Snow pix :)
Absolutely beautiful :)

Re: Alpha Snow pix :)

I had to pull up streets and trips to find Oregon. Closest I've been to you was LA and SD California. I'll certainly give a holler if I'm ever in Oregon. So do tell....is driving it as cool as it looks like it would be? |

Actually, summer last year I drove down to Atlanta with the intention of buying a used black Alpha wagon (with the black/brown interior). But when I saw the red open top with the all-black interior in the showroom with the top off, my mind was changed. You're right -- it does have a much different feel. My previous H1 was an '02 pewter metallic wagon (also a nice color, but with more gold to it). It was a bit nicer hauling things with the kids. I have to admit missing the wagon sometimes. How old are your kids? If they're young, you'll want to consider buying the aux. seat. while they still make the matching black color. Lynch can ship it right to your door. Enjoy the new truck!! |

It's a blast to drive, but it's definitely not as comfy as an H2. It's fun to watch people who haven't ever seen one before. I think I'll rename it "The Dude Magnet" cuz all the guys stare at it. :D :D :D Thanks everyone! Happy New Year! |

LOL...well I know all the guys on here are staring at it....I bet you get tons of looks in that! It is a great looking rig. Happy new year to you too! |

It just popped into my head. Not referring to anyone in specific, but I know if I ever saw on being towed by an H1 or especially an H1 Alpha, I'd have to point and laugh at the midget behind the wheel.:clapping: |

Re: Alpha Snow pix :)
Definitly call Travis/Rubber Duck for rock tubes and UCP. He's the best!
I did a lot of research and decided to keep the run-flats because I only use it for wheeling. I do not want to be stuck someplace with a slashed tire where I cannot change it and have to ruin it or possible not able to move it. There are a lot of places in Moab that come to mind - where you really need all four tires. With the run-flat, you could easily proceed to a safer spot. Winter in Wyoming across I-80 always looks like that. CTIS is one of the best things about the H1. Guys checking it out is another. It's priceless when you catch a guy checking our your H1 and you walk up to get in and you get that dumb look as they say "Is this your's? It's so cool!" I always fire back at them "Yeah, it's mine, and it's a blast to drive!" I have a set of chrome door trim handles listed in the H1 classified section if you decide to go with bling. |

Thanks for the info LVS. I'm having someone whip up a set of wheel covers, with ROX in it. How about some info on the air intake? I noticed that there is an inlet on the side of the hood below the stack part. I also noticed it sucks snow in it when it's covered. I was told the vents for the geared hubs and tranny all go up to the snorkel. Is this true? I like the looks of the short stack, but don't want to go all the way to the top of the windshield. I was also told that I could get some pipe at Home Depot to extend it. I wonder if Home depot has chrome pipe?;) :D :fdance: |
Re: Alpha Snow pix :)
I think the Inlet you are talking about is the HVAC inlet, its located below the snorkel on the body.
The geared hubs, diffs, CTIS, all do get routed to the air intake. As far as extending the snorkel, I have a DIY Home depot special on my truck but I want to get rid of it. If your on the trail and smack a tree with it, its toast. I think I'll go with one of the Centuri models, probably the tall one with the elbow in it (I know Lynch has it). Blue HUMMER also make a small extension for a song. Do you want to change the cap too? |
