http://www.realwheelsacc.com/h3_offroad.html

The Green Lantern 04-10-2006 02:44 PM

Muckfly 04-10-2006 02:45 PM

The Green Lantern 04-10-2006 02:52 PM

they should call that H3X, NOT the other one!!

Idaho-Hummer 04-10-2006 02:53 PM

I'm confused, how do you open the hood to check the oil with that thing on?

Nice roof rack.

Sewie 04-10-2006 02:54 PM

Schweeeett!!!! Great find!

I've been looking for a light bar like that too.

- you have to crawl underneath....that's why they put lift.

Steve - SanJose 04-10-2006 03:01 PM

Pure Road Warrior movie stuff. But I am curious how you open the hood too.

S.

The Green Lantern 04-10-2006 03:04 PM

- it's same as the H1's and H2's.

RubHer Yellow Ducky 04-10-2006 03:22 PM

HINGES !!!

RYD

Idaho-Hummer 04-10-2006 03:37 PM

I can't see any hinges in that pic.

Steve - SanJose 04-10-2006 03:52 PM

Hinges is not the answer, unless they provide a new front hinge kit with the guard.

Same question: how do you open the hood? Just curious.

Eeek!

In black its okay. Although you're not going to make any friends in the service with that thing on there...

Arizona Hummerboy 04-10-2006 06:22 PM

That is one sweet looking over the hood brush guard.

We've got that on our H2 and it's a nice piece. Expensive, but nice. Also, it bolted right on with no drilling.

I'm looking at the handles. On the H2 the bar attaches to two new handles for extra strength and it looks like these do too. Look to the rear of the PS one. If that's the case, you may have to drill a few holes into the hood.

I'd like to know because if it doesn't attach there, then the only mounting points is are at the hinges. That wouldn't be very strong and the grill will bounce noticeably.

You can contact Phil at Trail Duty. That's where we got ours. Maybe he has some info.

bparker 04-10-2006 10:06 PM

With that front hinge type brush gard on - it would be a B I T C H to work on.

RubHer Yellow Ducky 04-10-2006 10:14 PM

Can't understand why you all didn't believe me about the hinges.

Just because my climbing here in Miami is curbs, speed bumps & blue haired old ladies doesn't mean I lost my common sense...

H3HUMVEE 04-10-2006 10:49 PM

Nice looking brush guard but I don't like the square front support bars and I wouldn't think that this would be very strong .. Looking at the picture very carefully I don't see any other attachment points ..

Rick 04-10-2006 10:56 PM

Yick... I've seen this on the web before. It shows that it tilts forward but it's still very difficult to open the hood and do anything under the hood.

I would think it could do more damage than good.

Again... Yick

Chinkierol30 04-11-2006 12:11 AM

It looks nice and I don't care about function just the looks

H3 Alaska 04-11-2006 12:16 AM

Lets get back to the roof rack !!!!

That thing rules, and is exactly what I'm looking for.

Links anyone??????

Steve - SanJose 04-11-2006 02:13 AM

Sad but I'm starting to like this thing, especially in chrome. And it looks like the hinges work well enough.

StarsnBars 04-11-2006 02:59 AM

Yea Roof Rack, Roof Rack ,,, Me want baddddd

Sewie 04-11-2006 04:07 AM

Yeah, I like the roof rack and the lightbar. Neither is on their site.

Even the pics of the H3 on their site don't have them or the BG.

CampMaster 04-11-2006 10:59 AM

Roofrack +1

That overgrown, road-warrior brush guard is too funny! Looks like an oversized codpiece!

Muckfly 04-11-2006 12:41 PM

These guards have been around a while for the H1. I think it's only keeping with tradition that some H3 owners would want to give their Hummer a goliath look like the some of the big daddy H1 owners have before them.

The functionality might be a pain, but I think Hummer enthusiasts (like the guys working in the service department) will understand.

Hinges in the front make me worried about hitting anything. Then again, H1's have winches on the front. So it's not a good idea to be bashing anything. Get a Ford pickup truck for that sort of thing.

The purpose of the guard is to protect a finish against brush and tree limbs when you're offroading (and to look badass when you're on the road!)

StarsnBars 04-13-2006 02:40 PM

I called Realwheels yesterday about the roof rack. The lady said its currently in production phase. I was describing the rack on the phone and she thought it sounded like the one their making. Shes suppose to call me back with more info. Will post if I get anymore info Ahh spring time in the midwest. Time to go mow.... See ya

Guess I'll hold on the Gobi until you find out more about their roffrack and pricing etc....

StarsnBars 04-14-2006 03:09 AM

No call today. I sent them a request about some info their web site. Heres the linkhttp://www.realwheelsacc.com/

H3 Alaska 04-17-2006 02:15 PM

Here is the email I received regarding the roof rack:
--------------------------------------------
Dan,

We are currently working through the production development of the rack. We hope to have it ready within a month or so. We will post on the site as soon as it is available. If I get further updates from production that would indicate it being ready sooner, I will be sure to email you this information. Thank you for contacting us.

Regards,

Bjorn Cannon

Roof rack

I got a call from them today letting me know they have 1 of the roof racks currently in stock, and after that they are 2 weeks out after order.

I was at work, and could have sworn she said $1200.00

FYI, I'm about a month away from getting mine for the black one, so there is one up for grabs at this very second.
