McCain Running Mate

Looks like it's Gov. Palin.

Two jets from Anchorage landed just outside Dayton and the passengers were picked up by several minivans and whisked away.

One of the jets was in Sedona last night, where McCain lives.

Palin hasn't been seen since yesterday.

Young, good looking woman, sports star, broadcaster. Interesting selection.

Fox News has called it, CNN is complaining about the silent treatment they've recieved for weeks.:giggling:

Politics (leadership)is really going down the sh!tter isn't it.

A former sports reporter? Not a very long political career in one of the least populous states in the country.
Is that someone qualified to be one step from the presidency?

I'm just going to write in Jillian Barberie (Fox NFL weather girl) at least she's better to look at.

She's got more Executive office experience then anyone on the ticket.

Haha!!! The dems can't knock her experience. She's got more than obama!:clapping:

A Maverick picked a Maverick.

So much for a huge Convention bump for obama.

Some how the name Geraldine Ferraro comes to mind. :clapping:

Who just got in trouble up there? A senetor?

Ferraro is "very pleased" McCain reached out to a woman. Her own words.

Ferraro said obama's team, and the media treated hillary very badly and this may be very persuasive for hillary's supporters to cross over to McCain.

You've got to love her, she's a Hockey Mom.:)

Our mailman just dropped some packages off and was beaming! "Did you hear her speach?! She's great! blah, blah, blah..." It's the happiest I've ever seen a mailman.:clapping:

Re: McCain Running Mate

I'm sure she's a great Hockey mom, maybe she would make a good prime minister of Canada. (didn't she push for some oil pipeline through their country instead of Alaska anyway?)
but as I said. As governor of Alaska she's accountable to less people than the borough president of Brooklyn, NY. While she may have more political experience than some other candidate, I don't fancy either I don't think she's ready to be one step from the presidency. Unfortunately she's just a token to get McCain elected, because politics isn't about leadership anymore.:(

I'll bet if RYD packed up the airstream tomorrow, took a leisurely drive to Fairbanks and declared he was interested in running for office, that he would be elected to something in Alaska, by November!

Re: McCain Running Mate

Obama lowered the requirements to be president.

He has NO executive experience, just legislative. He's never led anything.

Palin has executive experience, it's not much, but it's tons more than obama.

How long has he held elective office? She's been elected 3 times and has a 90% approval rating.:clapping:

Smart move picking Sara Palin...

PTA president emeritas and former beauty queen.
Former Mayor of her home town. Not a bad girl.
Popular Governor of a State and a mother of 5...

-She has cleaned house in Alaska removing many a corrupt good old boy from the system.
-Her record is clean which is rare today
-A card carrying member of the NRA
-Pro Life which is also rare and refreshing for a female candidate.

Not too shabby and certainly a bold move for John McCain...

Should make for a interesting race!:drama:

I spent a few hours this morning looking into this lady's positions on the issues. In the process..... I think I fell in love with her.

She's pro-drilling, pro-gun, pro outdoor recreation (hunting, fishing, OHV's, etc.) pro-national defense, not an environmental extremist, she is intelligent, ethical, and easy on the eyes.

She ran for Governor as a successful American, a political outsider.

Her positions on the issues match my own. She is the conservative that McCain needed to shore up the base.

I like her better than McCain.

Re: McCain Running Mate

I'll admit that I'm no expert on political things but I think he made a great move and is in it to win it. It was unexpected, it shook things up and he picked a woman when so many Hillary supporters wanted her nomination or Veep status. I think Obama could have possibly won if he'd picked Hillary as a running mate but instead, he split the votes. Now, she might not be Hillary but you can't call him non-innovative and he's obviously very clever.

I was hoping for Lieberman or Kay Bailey. Just my 2 cents. Although, she is prettier than Lieberman.

Sarah Palin: Vice President of the United States of America

Just in case you didn't see Meet the Press this morning. Her parents have a bumper sticker that reads:

Vegetarian: An Indian word for poor hunter

just wanted to share this with you...

LOL, I've seen that bumper sticker out here, too. I see the humor in it .. I'm a vegetarian. Poor hunter, by choice. Palin, on the other hand, is a member of the NRA. She's still a good choice for VP in my book, though. :D

She seems good, not excellent but good...

Wish she had a few more years experience in big government but shes hats down over Obama...

I feel she and McCain may just pull this off. (gosh i hope)
