I agree. Got to laugh at all the people who panic'd and sold all their trucks and SUVs and lost a ton of money doing it. Now there all kicking themselves in the butt.

Although I kind of like it up toward $4. Keeps a lot of idiots off the road...and the other cars keep getting smaller.

Re: Yay, gas prices dropping.

Because of low state taxes on gasoline & supply from several regions, MO has always been one of the lowest in the country & central/rural MO the lowest in the country most times. 60 miles West of St. Louis in my area, almost everyone is $2.29 a gallon, but I did see $2.19 in Washington, MO Sunday. When and if it gets to 1.99 (OK, maybe I'm dreaming) I'll snap a picture.
For those of you with a 2009 E85 flex fuel Hummer, they have $1.89 a gallon ethanol E85 at the Quick Stop on hwy 100 on the city limits of Herman, MO.

Re: Yay, gas prices dropping.

GM: Maybe now we can get back to business and build me that HX I want for my driveway!

And I agree that it's kinda funny to see how many people jumped ship over the gas price thing. I remember when i first bought my first Hummer in 2005 and I got the "I am thinking of buying me one of those, but isn't the gas expensive?" at the pumps. I usually replied," Gas costs the same for me, but if you worry about paying for a tank of gas, a Hummer is too much for you"

Now I roll happy in my Hybrid H2 and educate the poor tree huggers when they ask what alternative fuel I use. :)

Re: Yay, gas prices dropping.

I, and im sure im not the only one, predicted that that gas prices would dive when they were at $4 plus......

Any one else do well short selling or with stock options on oil/gas stocks?

Dam, i love it when im right =).

And for my future prediction.....

All the speculation that drove the market up is not going to have as big of an effect anymore. Not knowing exactly how it all happened, but it seems to me that the 'speculators' have said to themselves 'cut the crap, were not going for that BS about hurricanes and foreign policy changes any more'.....that crap isnt going to make us buy and make oil $150/barrel. We learned our lesson.

From this point on I think it will take VERY major events to jack gas back up....

Just my prediction. Everyone said i was wrong back when i predicted it to crash this winter. And look at it now.

btw I have a $1,000 to $100 bet with a friend that im going to win if it goes below $2 in NY. Dam I need that $1,000.

"Saudi Arabia doesn't care about you or me or anybody else," he said. "They've got a taste of the expensive barrel of oil."

Seem in times of need, we step in and help others, but when the time comes to return the favor, others tend to "forget":raar:

This is CRAZY! Gasoline was 2.29 a gallon here last night and this afternoon it is $2.65 - is this a knee jerk reaction to the OPEC projections of cutting back???

Re: Yay, gas prices dropping.

CNN is reporting $1.86 a gallon this morning in Springfield, MO. Missouri has one of the lowest state gas tax rates in the US, plus the pipeline supply in Joplin, plus demand is down 7% in the state from last Oct. Diesel hasn't dropped as much @ $3.09 a gallon. Gasoline is still running 2.29 a gallon in the metro KC area & 2.39 in St. Louis. There seems to be a very wide disparity between prices in the rural areas and metro areas. The bad thing about this is that my IRA seems to be following the gas prices.

I cant say i didnt tell everyone this was going to happen at the begining of the summer. Can't tell you how many times I was in a room of people and when I would tell them "Gas will be under $2 by decemeber" they would say I was crazy.

But, i did have $1,000 to $100 bets with 2 people that it would happen.

Humm, whats should I spend my $2,000 on -))))

I was in Buckner, MO last night and the Phillips 66 has regular for $1.78 a gallon. The owner was there and he said prices might go down a little more next week. It's so nice to put 17 gallons in the Hummer for $29.89!!

$2.06 here in Southern NH. Feels good to drive the H2 a little more. I thought OPEC cut production about 2 weeks to prevent any further drop in prices and perhaps kick that current price up a tad ??
I wonder if the that massive price escalation was temporary or this drop is temporary?? Hope it stays like this or at least below $3.00 for some time.
