so i decided the hum needed some offroad attention so i went to woolys offroad. great offroad park with 500+ acres of trails and mud. Had a great time and my rig handled it all amazing. even some rocks which scared me a bit in the beginning. only thing is a lot of the trails are more for atvs which means they were narrow so i scratched up my rig pretty bad :crying: any suggestions how to get them off? anyways heres some pics to enjoy....

Great pics man !!! Thanks for sharin' !! Y'all lucky to have trails like that. It's very very hard to find any offroad trails over here in Belgium.

GREAT PICTURES! What city in TN is Wooly's near? As for the scratches, a good detailer may be able to buff out most of them. I would go with a good brush guard and I know the tubular steps are controversial for offroading and can hang up on rocks and terrain, but they do protect the sides from some of the brush. If it's mostly rock or creek beds, I take them off. Great looking H3, as for Rockstars, it's whatever YOU like!:perfect10s:

Woolys is in marshall county. its right off exit 32 on 1-65. as for the brush guard that will be my next purchase, and it was mostly rock and trail so i needed the clearance thats why i had the tube steps off.

And i know you didnt just call that an h3 :twak: haha

Looks like fun. If youcan fel the scratch with your finger nail, usually it wont buff out. A good detailer with the right products and buffer know how can do wonders. Get someone good, you cab ruin black paint in a hurry!

Andres, I'm sorry bro. it was kind of a last moment decision to check it out. but it is definitely worth a second trip back out there so i will let you know next time I give it a shot. theres even camp grounds. but I'm definitely getting some more offroad protection for the next trip. ill pm you if i need that guys info. I'm gonna try a high gloss polish and wax it to see if that helps any, because i really don't want to pay out the a$$ to have them professionally removed

Looks like it was fun trip to bad you have some paint issues but you could just leave it muddy and know one would could tell :giggling: .
Im with Frenzy wish there were places like that in europe, Germany has a few but nothing like the states.

Please do not waste your time with a "high gloss polish". High gloss polishes have almost no cutting power. The gloss will only amplify the scratch in appearance and you'll have a shinny scratch. You need a polish with some cut to eliminate the scratch completely. Look into the Meugiars #105 and then follow that with the Mequairs #205 and then wax it with the Meguairs #26 yellow wax and use a buffer with variable speed to really work those polishes to get the best cut. Doing this work by hand is a complete waste of time, especially on black. TRUST ME...I've tried! There is a chance that you'll only need the Meguiars #205, but I'd still want to see some pics, but good luck to you and if you are ever in Albuqueque NM... stop by and I'll look at it for you. lol

I didnt end up using the polish. i tried some sort of scratch remover which did take out some of the lighter scratches. i will try your method eventually. once we get some nicer weather. it supposed to rain here for the next week and a half :mad: ill try and get a pic of the scratches up soon

If you're going to wheel you could just keep the scratches until you sell ;) plus it shows your rig gets used like it's supposed to. Nice pictures I wish there was stuff around here to wheel on that isn't closed off.

oh believe me i know it was born to be offroad. I'll get over the scratches... in fact i think I'm ready for more :excited: But i can't get over the fact of how many people say "I can't believe you take that offroad, you're crazy" Like WTF do you think these tanks are made for people...

Nice pix! I love Wooly's! I took my jeep there and my 4 wheelers, but have yet to take the H2. Yea, those trails are narrow!

hey neighbor! i didnt know we had other nashvillians besides me and roush. ya woolys is great! but man those trails are a bit nerve-racking for a wide hummer. i swear one time i slipped between two trees that were probably only a foot wider than my rig :eek:

I agree with the meguiars compounds the other user suggested for removing the scratches (the #105 followed by #205). However do yourself a HUGE favor. If you think you will be ever offroading again or are not one to want to wax every month put this stuff on instead of wax.

It does everything wax does and then some..... it actually forms a protective shell on the car that will seriously keep scratches from bug hits, brush, etc to a minimum. You will notice a huge difference. And in my experience it lasts for a good 8-10 months as opposed to a month or so for regular wax. I use it on all my vehicles and my boats.

Man I gotta tell you I REALLY do not think that stuff is going to work lol. The only thing that really works IMO is magnetic shielding. I went to windrock last year without it and it looked like someone dragged a garden rake down the side of my truck when we where all done. But it did all buff out.

Yes I will be at windrock. And I cannot wait!!!! especially after running Black Mountain yesterday. In fact I still have the sheeting on the truck right now from yesterday. I just need to find the time to wash it and take it off lol.
