I have been talking to Moore Hummer in Richmond, Va and they have a 05' demo in the showroom with 7,000 miles on it. the VIN is: 5GR GN23 U1 5H129723 they said that they would be willing to deal on this truck as its a leftover demo. It has the LUX package, Navagition system, 3rd row seat, the uplevel chrome package, sunroof, and wrap around brush guard. The MSRP is listed at $61,835 what do you guys think would be a reasonable offer for this setup? Oh yea it is yellow as well so it meets almost all of what the wife wanted on it.

We got a demo from Hall and haven't had any issues. They should start with atleast 10k off and you can negotiate from there.
They said their bottom line would be around $53,000 for this deal just wondering what you all might do on it...
IMO, that's not enough.
I am no expert but to me this does not sound like a deal at all. You can get that more than that off a new, zero miles, left over '05. Hell, you could wait until this summer and if they run the employee pricing program again you could get an new '06 for less.
Kinda what I was thinking. If they said that they would go to in the upper $40s than that might sound better on my end. The way I am thinking is it is a demo with over 7,000 miles (might as well be a used truck) even though it has never been titled in someone's name.

I have heard on the news that GM is making some serious cuts has anyone heard if this will translate into price breaks again??? We are in no real hurry to make this purchase and are willing to wait it out. Just don't want to get into the situation where the company wants a premium for their product to keep the company afloat.
Just checked NADA and KBB on their values for the truck and they fall between $48K and $52K respectivly. I still think they should be closer to the lower value of $48 if they want to move the truck. If they wait too long they will be trying to sell a leftover vehicle with a premium price.
Look under the vehicle for scrapes on skid plates. Then ask dealer to reduce price even more.

You can get about $7K off of the sticker price with a GMID. With the GMID I got from a forum member, I got my $58K MSRP vehicle for $51K with only 200 mi on it (also bought from Moore Hummer, but in Chantilly). I would try to get one of those and get a new one like it four around $55K, or see if they'll give you the demo for around $48K-50K. $53K seems kind of high for a $62K vehicle with 7K miles on it to me.
You should be able to buy that for around 51,500 or so. If you have GMID you would be able to buy it for 51100.25, GMS would be 48666.15. Remember though that GMID and GMS are supported from the factory that is why they can sell them cheaper. On all three of those prices they make the most on the GMS and then the GMID and then the 51,500 number.

Ok this is where my Ford upbringing handicaps me... What is are GMID, and GMS. I assume these are sales programs like with Ford you have the X Plan, A plan, and so on. How would I go about getting these pricing options on the truck.

BTW, demo means "hummer happening trail leader". |
Here, Moore is selling an 05 SUT with 1,482 mi for $48,900: http://autos.yahoo.com/usedcars/detail/index.html;_ylt=...bWs9SHVtbWVyJm1vPUgy
See also 05 SUT with 600 mi for $46,500: http://autos.yahoo.com/usedcars/search.html?make=AMGEN&...mmer&mo=H2&cs=mi&&b= There's more like those out there. |
They own it for 55396.40 flat out (this is less holdback)...However, this does not include any of the incentives...

I think that is why he left off with "the incentives..."
I just got my H2 last week. I started out looking at demo's thinking I would save more money. But I found out that will the auto show, and factory incentives. I bought a brand new one for a little cheaper, Don't know how they do it but I'm driving a Hummer!
