I like them...it is pretty low key, and a mod easy to miss...I like that in a mod.

Are you planning on doing the side marker lamps?

4churchill 10-24-2005 01:33 AM

ving bulb issues too...lemme know what you find

Post some Night Pics if you can. I kinda wanted this kit, but I love the look of the marker lights at night so I didn't.

Here are some night photos. The Desert Sand H2 is the one with the modified marker lights. The other is my wife's Stealth Grey '05 with stock Marker Lights.

Cool. They look about the same. Thanks for the pics. Nice mod too.

FiremanJay 10-25-2005 10:25 AM

nice mod.
Just installed mine from recon and they look great especially on a black rig.

FiremanJay 10-25-2005 10:27 AM

The small lights are easy to remove just push the whole lense unit to one side or the other and they will pop out.

4churchill 10-25-2005 01:54 PM

definately easy to install

FiremanJay 10-25-2005 11:12 PM

here is a link to a led light source page for all types of applications http://www.superbrightleds.com/led_prods.htm

Field Rat 10-26-2005 01:57 PM

FiremanJay, Did you put LEDs on your rig? I tried the LEDs in the markers but they seemed to focus too much of their light up and they did not have as much area light as regular bulbs.

MotorsportsAuthority aka Dragon 10-26-2005 05:08 PM

wow. i'm glad u posted that second pic. i couldn't tell the difference in the first.

his and hers...how cute
reminds me of boyd coddington and his wife with matching shirts..just kidding

FiremanJay 10-31-2005 10:23 AM

Havent done the leds yet but will shortley. the only thing i didnt like about the recon kit was that the standard 198 bulbs in the rear seem to have a slight pink tint the previous web page offers leds that are mounted in such a way as to allow light to go in all directions so i may spend the cash and try those.

FiremanJay 10-31-2005 10:28 AM

i am looking for a side marker light that is smoked. all i can find at this time is the ones with the billet wraped around the lenses. if any ones knows are the lenses mounted to the billet surrounds or can i just install the lenses. dont want any chrome on my rig. dont know if i want to drop the cash for the billet set and be stuck with left over parts unless someone would be willing to purchase the surrounds from me i might go ahead and do the mod

Field Rat 10-31-2005 01:34 PM

I was thinking about the same side markers you are and paint the billet part black to match my trim.

Hummer Geek 10-31-2005 05:35 PM

How about covering the side marker with http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-2005-HUMMER-H2-SUT-SM...QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem then add the billet. I'm not sure how durable the film is though.
