Yeah!! Thats my emergency vehicle. If I get stuck or run out of gas, I always have a backup vehicle

superbeast 04-27-2005 01:24 PM

very nice , some aftermarket rims and tires sure would bling it up ( hint hint )

drmiles 04-27-2005 01:38 PM

Planning on getting some 37's for now. Not sure if I'll use the existing rims or new ones... That rubbing thing might not be a problem on 8.5" wheels, instead of 10" wheels.STILL WAITING ON PICS OF SOME TIRES, that a really nice guy is getting rid of cheap.

Nice, glad to see that Gobi up there too! So, what type of tire are you looking into? AT/ MT/ street tire?

drmiles 04-27-2005 05:05 PM

MT most definately. Around here when it rains it poors. Easy to find 3 foot of water where your favorite road use to be. the only hills are the overpasses which also may be full of water...

This looks like a midget compared to the last one. Can't wait to see pics when you get the lift.

drmiles 04-27-2005 08:01 PM

Headers and exhaust tomorrow.
Supercharger (sitting on livingroom floor), as soon as it gets about 12,000 miles. If I can wait that long.
Tires probably 37's soon.
Lift kit not in the immediate plans (for now anyway)

usetosellhummer 04-27-2005 08:55 PM

nice rig, like the stealth rack

Here's the 37" BGF MT's on stock height.

drmiles 04-28-2005 09:41 AM

I like the 37 look. 6" lift for 1 inch of ground clearance? Also those 38's really stole a lot of towing power!!
If I lift again, I will regear to 4:56 or 5:13 when available.

Superbeast has 37's for sale. But the 13.5" wide rubs, and I'm afraid if at an angle may rub BAD!! Also I've found them locally for less than he had to pay. Hate to break the news to him. Will probably stick with th 12.5" to avoid the rubbing problem while articulating.

Was considering putting them on Stock rims, thus narrowing the tire and making it slightly taller. Can alway adjust air pressure to get tread flat. Technique works well even though you wear the center faster, the edges which normally wear due to turning on th front, last longer keeping the tire with even tread throughout its life.

Hey Phil chill,

I love the look with the lift.. I went through stuff the H1's had trouble with. The 15.5 inch wide tires kept the truck from sinking as far and as fast, which kept it churning throuhg the mud.

When I look at mine now and then at a lifted one my heart sinks. I want to go back so bad, I'm just conviencing myself I'm better off with the 37's and no lift. '

Any way I have a powerflash programmer, never used if your interested will let go for about 399.00

P.S. yours looks great!!! Let me know if you get the coil over shocks worked out. I agrre ablut the torsion bars.

drmiles 04-28-2005 05:47 PM

On a stock rim or rim with stock backspaing they will definitely rub just while turning, lket alone offroad. My 37's rubbed heavily, and most people I know with 37's have some rubbing. I think you may be okay with 4.5" backspacing though.

Damn!! I was under the impression that they would not rub.
May have to rethink my options

PARAGON 04-28-2005 06:07 PM

I have 37s with no rubbing. I don't think the rubbing Phil was referring to is an issue whatsoever. Many people with their stock wheels and TIRES had/have rubbing issues. It's usually a slight rub on the sway bar. I did not even have rubbing under maximum compression.

Many of us are running 37x12.5x17 on the stock wheels with no problems at all.

drmiles 04-28-2005 07:48 PM

Oh, were sure the 37 x 13.5 will rub. the question is how bad. Will it rub and scuff the inner fender, or will it tear the plastic and bend it up where it has to be cut and the metal beat back?

kdio 04-29-2005 02:41 PM

Prior to lifting my H2, I ran Goodyear MTRs 37x12.5x17 on 17x10 rim with 4.5 backspacing for 20,000 miles without any rubbing. Even off road they never rubbed, but I did adjust my torsion bars up, my H2 sat nose low from the factory.
