50,000 mile fluid changes DIY...

Anyone done the 50K service fluid themselves with success?

Any suggestions and cautions for ATF, Diferential, Trans Case...

What fluids did you use? etc...

Thanks:grouphug:

I had Lynch do the transmission and transfer case in January, but did both differentials myself and used the Royal Purple Max Gear differential fluid. I'm in water so often I change my diff fluids a lot.

Thanks Jim,
Any issues doing the differentials? Did you use the drain plug in the back dif or take off the cover plate? Any tips to share to make it easy?:grouphug:

Theres no need to remove cover on front or rear differential, they both have plugs .
Easy to do
The transfer case is easy also but you nead one of those bug sprayers tanks that you pump up. The fill holes to high to pour it in.
If you have a early build(theres a plate on TC stating this)you must add (i think it was 8 oz) through the sensor on the top.
I used a sealant on the sensor and the plug
I did it on a lift but im sure it could be done in the driveway.

The trans was a pain, you must remove bolts for shifter and jimmy it to get the pan down.2 people with the truck on a lift would be better.A hook or grab tool might be needed to remove seal for filter.

Thanks 442,
Sounds like I will need some help since there is no way this could be done in my driveway. Don t have one of those hook pump dispensers in my garage.

Happy New Year:beerchug:
