Hummer's home from Rubber Duck!

Got a call yesterday morning from the trucker bringing my wagon back from Rubber Duck saying he would be at my shop in two hrs-I hadn't seen the truck in a month and I was EXCITED!! I was checking out the front door about every 15 min. until it finally rolled in and it looked incredible! Travis did a great job, and considering the amount of stuff I threw at him to do I expected a few things to be off a little or need to have the kinks worked out when it hit the ground-not so!

I had him do the cool kit, suspension lift and HD springs, upgraded wategate, HP exhaust, HP PCM, HD idler-pitman, upgraded cooling fan, R-Blox the doghouse, Auburn lockers, center the front diff and put in HD half shafts, 17" wheels and new MTR's, Centramatic wheel balancers, fix the CTIS, add the full undercarriage protection, new stereo, amp, and speakers, rework the Warn winch and put a synthetic line and fairlead on it, fix the front brush bar, put the Rock Guard sliders on, hood lift kit, replace some missing protection panels under the hood, change out the stock steering wheel, replace a bunch of small items under in and on it, and a complete C service. I am SURE I am forgetting something, but that was the bulk of it. I put a 100 mi. on it yesterday and of course had to take it out back here at the farm and try it all out in the snow we were having yesterday and it all worked 100%. Travis shot me a great deal on the package and as some of you know I was on the fence about sinking a bunch of money into this old ('96) dog, but it having the sentimental value to me that it does, and wanting to really use it I am SO GLAD that I spent the money! It is like a completely different truck and I will definitely enjoy wheeling it this year!

For those of you who pointed me to Rubber Duck-thank you! For those of you thinking of taking your truck to Rubber Duck or purchasing items from them-do it. I have a few exotics, a custom motorcycle, and this Hummer, and I have never been treated as well or had as great an experience as I have had with Rubber Duck. There have been a few that have come close, but this is the only transaction in the automotive realm that hasn't left even the slightest bit of regret!!

Thanks again Travis!

I never seem to have the best luck getting things posted up on forums-if someone could help me out I could email them pics if they could post them!! I just spent $20.00 at the wand wash getting all of the grime off of it from yesterday's "test drive":clapping: :clapping:

Congrats Bullsnake. I'm glad to hear that you are happy with the end result. :beerchug: I was talking to Travis a while back and asked him if you had sent your truck down there. When he said yes, and proceeded to list off all the stuff you chose to add my eyes almost popped out of my head. You've turned your truck in to one hell of a monster. If you want send me the pics @ ssgharkness020147@yahoo.com and I'll post them up for you.

Thanks so much! I'll get a few pics of it this weekend and shoot them off to you. I really appreciate the help!

Every time I walk by that big beast in the garage it puts a smile on my face-I can't wait to really get out there and try it out!!!

Pics sent off to ssgharkness020147-thanks so much for the assist! I got some shots of it yesterday while we had our first day above 40 degrees here since the end of October. Got a shot of it with my 1 1/2yr old boy next to it-he loves to go out with me and get it dirty! We have a motocross track set up on our property for my oldest son to practice on and we are going to redo it this spring so we ended up and went tearing around it with some of the other toys we have before we took the pic, so I sent a shot of that too so you can see the kind of mud we are having to deal with here. You can't even tell what color the Polaris RZR is!

Thanks Carey!!!:clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

I still have to get the safari rack and lights on it yet-when it left it had the rack and two spares up top and made it in to the garage with about an inch to spare. Now WITHOUT the rack and tires it only has 4" of clearance-looks like I'm gonna have to hurry up and build the shop that I have been putting off since we built the house last year:crying:

I drove it in to our local Hummer dealer yesterday to pick up a registration form for an off road event that they are having the end of April, and parked next to a full-on blinged out H2 with enough chrome on it to almost warrant wearing welding goggles. As I was walking in the guy and his wife were walking out and she turns to him and says "Now THAT is what a Hummer should look like! Ours looks like it'd get stuck in a parking lot!":clapping:

I just smiled...

hahah nice ride. I myself dont have an h1 but i love to park next to blingers in my h2, makes me proud that i didnt waist my money on stickon metal. For example i parked next to an 08 sut blinger the otherday at the crawfish place, i happened to walk as he was walking towards his blinger and he couldnt take his eyes off of my h2.

Re: Hummer's home from Rubber Duck!

Thanks guys for all the kind words!

I had an H2 before I ended up with this truck and loved it! The guy that was at the dealership had big 'ol 24's on it with street performance radials, and chrome, chrome, chrome! I love all of the Hummer line, and have seen all of them do some incredible stuff, that is why it just kills me to see people lowering them and putting street kit on them! I'm probably an odd duck around here though-I like to get out and see what these things will do out in their element!

Thanks for putting up with me everyone-in case you can't tell I'm a little excited about having it back!

i love parking next to the people here after a day offroading, ill park next to a blinging a H3 and then walks out the owners all taking pictures of mine, its happened on several occasions, even at a gas station i had people ask to take a picture of them next to my car becuase theyve never seen a Hummer how it should look before.

I had that happen at work a couple of days ago. I drove in with it all muddy from the weekend, and everybody was asking where did I go, and they have never seen a Hummer dirty before.
