hard to shift

Hi at all...
I've tested a 2000 Wagon on offroad...
I have put the HL and to shift is H is hard and sometimes "groan" (I hope you understand me).
Try more times and finally shift.

Also I put in L and when goes to H I think to broke the shift...
Is very hard or is normal ?

Many thanks.

Re: hard to shift

It normal for the Tcase to be hard to shift. When I got my first rig I was told "shift it like you hate it". Put the tranny in neutral then jam it in to the range you want to select. Do not pause between ranges (especially neutral) as this will allow the T-case to start spinning, which will cause grinding for sure.
